Did Hussein just call Latvia a "former soviet satellite"?!

I don't think the people of Latvia would consider themselves a SATELLITE....someone correct me if I'm wrong, but what I remember from history is that Latvia was OVERWHELMED and taken over by the Soviets...made part of the USSR.

As someone pointed out, voters will be baffled by the BS and will vote for style over substance.

This is why Obama will win the debate and probably the election.

McCain is right and Obama is out of his league, but he can BS with the best of them and most people doesn’t understand the difference.

Sad, but true.

You are absolutely correct. They where not a satellite of the Soviets, they where run over by the Soviets.

I believe the correct terminology was “Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic” which meant “we’re the occupying power.” I don’t see that translating as “satellite” country. We could ask a Hungarian for the difference I suppose.
