Corn based ethanol is a waste of resources. Takes more energy to make it than it contains.......

Ethanol sucks in cars and is a total waste except maybe in industrial applications. Get it out of my car and we can talk. Maybe corn sqeezings will make a comeback.

I am an Iowan and I know of very few people that support ethanol enough to put it in their cars. It is a bad deal all around. I think McCain’s opposition to ethanol subsidies is a push at worst, vote wise. It certainly makes me happier with John McCain.

Ethanol was a bad idea from the start. Looks like those folks in Ohio will just have to vote for Obama for their Ethanol money along with the other handouts!
To: o2bfree
And the people of Ohio want to vote for McCain, all we need is the use of a vacation home, one week, for each family in Ohio.
And in Virginia... everyone wants a pony.

sounds like Iowans are hooked on welfare. We can win without them. Ethanol subsidies are a scam.

I have to give McCain credit for defying the ethanol lobby. Ethanol is just another farm subsidy that does nothing to give us energy independence. I know it is the “third rail” of Midwestern politics, but it is a boondoggle none the less.

Ethanol has done more to screw over the average American than any other government-backed scam in recent history. I wish McCain would go even further and take the advice in my signature.
Aside from the arguments against ethanol that are rooted in science, one needs to ask the question... if ethanol is so great, why does it need subsidies? Why can't it stand on its own without taxpayer help?

screw ethanol....I went by a gas station today and e-85 was actually MORE than regular unleaded (with 10% ethanol)....why would anyone buy a flex fuel vehicle to burn that crap is beyond me, especially now that falling oil prices have made e-85 economically uncompetitive. Feed the corn to the pigs, I want my baby back ribs.

Sounds like Iowans want it both ways.
They want to screw the country, but they don't want the country to screw them.
