Agreed. Headline conjures up imagery of shooting a kid in the back while he runs away with some old lady’s bag.

In this case, an armed robber was shot while he was committing a felony.

To quote my CCW instructor: "If he comes at you with a weapon, ANY weapon, whether it is a screwdriver, a pocket knife, a stick, or a gun... his ass is already bought and paid for. Shoot him!"

That's the law for a civilian with a CCW permit here. I would think that a Federal Law Enforcement Officer would have AT LEAST that much lattitude.

I hope so, anyway (and I'm no fan of cops).

The story has been corrected. It was a Customs officer not a ICE agent. It says they are not sure if the perp was hit...
