Will World of Warcraft depress the Obama vote? (vanity)

I suddenly noticed that the next big expansion to the popular "World of Warcraft" online game, "Wrath of the Lich King", comes out on November 3rd. That's one day before the election.

Anyone think basement-dwelling liberals will be too busy with the new game to go out and vote? Hey, I can dream...

Hopefully, they will be lined up at Game Stop instead of the voting booth.

Obama’s plan to fight the WOT is create an 80th level Wizard who will cast the spell “ Power Word Kill” on Al Queda members. :)

People may laugh, but I don’t think this is so far fetched. One of his biggest voting blocks is the under 30 crowd. It’s not a stretch to think that video games are more important to many people than voting.

The ONLY age demographic in which “The One” leads is 18-29.

And we know how short their attention spans are. Remember the “youth vote” from ‘68 and ‘72?

Sure, they’ll cut class to go see the Obamassiah (as long as there’s a rock concert before hand), but that’s a far cry from getting off thier butts and outta their basements to do things like register, and then actually go vote.

Perhaps polling places will be set up in the World of Warcraft. The question is: How many EVs will be allocated to Warcraft?

I mean, I don't know what you're talking about!

Besides, Mr. Change Man would probably be a druid.

My staunch conservative sister and brother-in-law are addicted to “Warcrack” too. I don't think that's just a game for liberals.

“One of his biggest voting blocks is the under 30 crowd.”

The under thirty crowd hardly votes, and I know a lot of people in their forties and fifties who play this game and they are mostly Republicans.

Mostly it’s a game for Korean 12-year-olds. But I’m quibbling.

The people it might really suppress are the Ron Paul weirdos, although I don’t know how [or that] it would affect the race.

All Obama has to do is make WoW the 58th state, and he can send them absentee ballots.

I don't know. I've never played it. My sister and brother-in-law play it constantly. They live in Baytown next to Houston and she was trying to do a marathon run at Warcrack before the hurricane because she knew her power would be out for a while. She cracks me up. They must be miserable now with all the heat and high humidity and no air conditioning or Warcrack. My little brother lives in that area too and he was driving his car around all night just to have air conditioning. They're saying it will take two or three weeks to get all the power turned back on. No Warcrack and no air conditioning. Ouch.
