Washington is the latest state to show a strong western surge for John McCain since he added Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to the Republican ticket.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Washington finds Barack Obama still ahead, but barely. It’s Obama 49%, McCain 47%. A month ago, Obama was up by twelve percentage points. Recent polls have shown McCain gains in Montana, New Mexico and North Dakota.

Among Democrats, Obama now attracts 83% of the vote, down six points from last month. However, the big change comes among unaffiliated voters who now favor McCain by a 48% to 43% margin. In August, before the two parties held their conventions, Obama led by twelve among voters not affiliated with either major political party...

This is at least the second poll I’ve seen showing Washington close. Very interesting.

Wow is right.

This is huge.

Somebody asked me about a landslide the other day (not that I think we’ll get one) but I told them to watch these states for a clue:

Wisc, Wash, Oregon,Minn...and now NJ is within about 4-5 lol.

It helps the Christine Grigoire in enmeshed in a massive corruption scandal. The danger point for Obama he is getting less than 83% of his party's voters. Al Gore got 85% and Kerry got 89%. Washington State could well go Red on November 4th.

All she has to do is raise the 12th man flag at Seahawks Stadium (most Alaskans are huge ‘hawks fans) and she’s won the state!

Hahahahaha! If Senator Barack Obama isn’t winning in Washington State, can you imagine how soft his support in Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado and Florida is?! LOL

My daughter lives in Seatac, Washington. She is a liberal politically, though a very social-fiscal conservative.

If McCain-Palin win there, here head will explode. She may stop talking to me.

Yeah I thought the same thing. She should at least come out as the Hawks fan she is. Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska are all Seahawks Country.

I live in Oregon and am surrounded by liberals day in and day out. You are right! If McCain wins in either of these states, there will be hippie riots everywhere.
