If he likes to employ this lurid prose, let's just say that Gergen's commentary was "grotesque". Now that I think of it, his monkish face even reminds me of a medieval grotesquerie carved on the facade of a gothic cathedral.
At any rate, it sounded like it was an epic struggle for him to report the event and still not trash Sarah in a Torquemada sort way.
