Here is the transcript: SMITH: Molly, we understand you have some new information about the so-called Governor Palin ‘Troopergate’ case. First give us a back story on that case if you can and tell us what’s up now.

HENNEBERG: Right, ‘Troopergate’ is the investigation into when Sarah Palin as governor – if – as her critics say, she fired her public safety commissioner because he wouldn’t in turn fire a state trooper, who was Palin’s ex-brother-in-law. Some Democrats and her critics are saying she was involved here and may have abused her power, but the McCain campaign today is out with a new picture of the three lead state legislators who are investigating this whole ‘Troopergate,’ and it shows the three of them at Obama headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska in July, which the McCain campaign says shows the whole investigation is politically tainted and compromised, something you will hear more from the McCain campaign as the investigation continues.

The photo can be found on Obama’s website. This comes from a July meeting, which precedes the Palin pick. However, it also shows that the people running the investigation are overt Obama backers, which calls into question whether they can be fair — especially with Obama’s campaign involving itself with Wooten’s union

The guy at the center of all this, Wooten, sounded like he wanted to put all of this behind him during a recent interview with CNN.

If the Bush team operated like the McCain team, the world would be a different place.

I imagine that he does. He still has to live there and the Obambi folks won’t give a crap about him after November regardless of the outcome of the election.

Hmmm. The investigation is tainted. Obama’s people were meeting with investigators in July and coincidentally they are expediting the investigation so they can get a report out a couple of days before the election.

Not all state legislators are happy with the direction of the troopergate investigation. Republican Rep. John Coghill of North Pole on Friday called on French to step down as manager of the Branchflower probe, saying he no longer had confidence in French’s objectivity.

Coghill said he was concerned about media statements French had made, including that Branchflower’s report could be a damaging “October surprise” for Palin and that she faces possible impeachment.

“These statements cause me to think that the report is already written even though the investigation is only just begun and the most important witnesses have not even been interviewed,” Coghill wrote in a letter calling for French’s replacement. “The investigation appears to be lacking in fairness, neutrality and due process.”

Damn right. I think that's why I have been so emotional over the choice of Palin. I'm seeing my party fight back hard, and it's such a great feeling.

"Calls into question???"

That's what you might call "understatement," wouldn't you say?

I think some of McCain's team WAS Bush's team...at least during the election process. They need to keep hitting if they win.
