My spell checker always wanted to replace “Obama” with “Alabama”, which just didn’t seem right. So I loaded Osama bin Laden into the spell dictionary and now it wants to replace “Obama” with “Osama”......good for a chuckle every time I click it. It’s the small things in life, don’t you find?

I think that’s the point. A President would have clarified to George what he meant, instead he let George lead his thought with no qualms.

♪ Barack Obama! Don't you lie to me, You're from Kenya Africa, not from Hawaii. He trained at the madrassa, not PS 21, His daddy was a Muslim, his mom not quite a nun. "Someone should get the Muslim prayer times for North America and see if Barrys trips to the washroom with a little floor mat coincide with them."
Better yet, take a recording of the call to prayers to one of his campaign events, and see if he falls to his knees and bows toward Mecca.

Is that 57 state thing going around really true? I've never tried to find out as I thought it was just tooo stupid to be true. So can you tell me, is it really true? If so it is absolutely idiotic to consider this guy for anything except perhaps remedial education. At what grade I don't know, when do kids learn there are 50 states?

Right. A gaffe is fair game. Absolutely. All we need do is lampoon Milhous, “He Who Must Not be Named”.

"I see no difference, it still seems to me that Obambi slipped, he made the Muslim comment too..."
He hadn't even realized he'd made a slip. George was nice enough to rephrase Bambi's answer for him, putting words in his mouth.

When I saw the video, it was obvious his comment was being taken out of context and people were hearing only what they wanted to hear. This is not the gotcha weve been waiting for!I don't know. I listened to the context, and it is true that he was talking about people calling him muslim in radio talk shows, but McCain hasn't said anything directly. But to say a line like "...it's true that McCain hasn't said anything about my Muslim faith..." instead of something to distance himself from calling himself a Muslim is quite a gaffe. Why didn't he say "my supposedly being a Muslim" or "McCain hasn't spoken about me being a Muslim"? Either of those would never have had the interpretation that "my Muslim faith" does.
If you think that it shouldn't have been interpreted as a gaffe at all, then why did Stephanopoulus immediately correct him?

I think what this points out is this guy doesn't know who he is. As Sarah Pallin said, the presidency isn't about a journey of self discovery. The country cannot afford it. When Barry gets around to addressing his shortcomings, the country will be ready to give him another chance. But that is not today.

Yes, the fact of the matter is that this video shows a misspeaking gaffe, not a teary eyed admission of faith.
But, as a wise man once said, facts are stupid things. ;-)
The issue is that when people misspeak, they generally realize it, and correct themselves. I wouldn't say 'My opponent has never connected me to my Buddhist faith' without it registering with me that I had misspoken. As an instructor I'm often clarifying or correcting myself. Sometimes my explanations sounds less correct to my ears than it did in my head. The more important or un-ambiguous the topic, the more likely I would catch myself.
If I said, for instance, "Make sure you remove the batteries from your system before turning it on", it would strike me right away that I misspoke. Removing the power source from an electronic device before turning it on is clearly incorrect.
Obama has no light of recognition on his face that he said anything wrong. Either he didn't think he said anything wrong, or he's just not very bright. I'm perfectly willing to accept either possibility.

I think what Allah is pointing out, and Allah, like many of us, wants McCain-Palin to win, is that it is very possible that such attacks will turn Obama into a victim, and there are negitive sides for McCain in doing that.
