According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace -- in an appearance I did with her this morning on Joe Scarborough's show -- the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads....

What the heck is this crap?
Hey, Carney — we got us some unscripted debates coming up, remember? The ones where your guy Biden is going to be handed his lunch?

Ron Paul? Stevie here seems to be upset that McCain didn’t pick Lieberman...he said as much in another one of his PDS threads.

Jay, just curious...what does it say about Barack Obama’s judgment that he had all the array of Democrat public officials, active and retired, to choose a running mate from, and he chose Joe Biden?

Yes, because the clown media in the last 6 days have yet to report ANY facts on Palin. Instead they have engaged in slander, libel and lying. She should not talk to clowns who demonstrated they will print any lie, repeat any rumor, ignore any fact that does not fit their bigoted weld shut minds political dogmas

They reported a bunch of facts about her running up all that debt in the village where she was mayor, how she was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it, etc.

The four day media jihad against Sarah Palin is a failure. They were unable to destroy Palin before she could introduce herself to America. So now the Obamedia is regrouping. If this is going to be their line of attack, that's great. Let them suggest that Palin can't speak for herself, needs a script etc. That, of course is the real weakness of Obama, the only person I have ever heard of who uses a teleprompter in a press conference (no kidding, he really did). Imaging if G.W. Bush did that! The media would have a field day, talking about what a dunce he is that he needed answers fed to him. Of course you never heard about it, with the Obamessiah. Just like you never hear what a stuttering, stammering, cornucopia of word salad he becomes when trying to answer a simple question, avoiding both telling the truth and getting caught in a lie at the same time. But I digress.
Let the media continue this most recent attack on Palin. Keep her away from interview for a week or two, until the media are in a frenzy. Then let her hit every network interview show (except MSDNC) in a single weekent, and blow them away. They won't know what hit them.

How much do you really NEED to know?!
She’s not Obmama.
She’s not Biden.
O.K.! I know enough to make an intelligent decision.

JC - this is something I’ve been concerned about - ‘cause I’m thinking that in the past, some debates have given the candidates the questions in advance - do you know whether that’s true or not?
I certainly hope not, with these three we’ll get to see - BHO does badly without advance preparation, while that’s JSM’s forte.

I think that they should scrap the celebrity newsman questioning for debates. I don't trust the libs who get those jobs. I expect they'll leak the questions, etc.
Have a bunch of questions prepared in advance with a random draw of available questions.
As someone said, McCain-Palin are running against the entire media. Trust none of them.

I think they have good cause to ignore the msm for a while anyway and during that time, if SP connects well with the voters, who really cares about the MSM. The debate is still there. Perhaps throw a crumb to MSM every now and then to try to encourage better beavior.

Any reasonably competent adult with a slight understand of Journalism would tell you what has been directed at Sarah Palin for the last 56 days is not journalism but the worst sort of gutter slime muck racking supermarket tabloid spew. Why waste time on talking to DNC propaganda whores in the Establishment media who have shown they are not going to do any serious backgrounders on Palin but merely regurgitate the Obama camp daily lie, and spin lines about Palin.
Spare me the hypocise that this garbage is not being shopped to the Media by the O camp. We caught the Media coordinating coverage with the Kerry camp in 2004. The incestuous relationship between the DNC and the heads of the major media are no secret to those who pay attention. What do you think Rathergate in 2004 was but a DNC staged dirty trick?
No reason to give the clown media access when they have shown they have no interest in reporting the facts. If they want access, they can start by doing their job as Journalists rather then Obama's PR whores. So far, no sign of them doing that.

“Yes, because the clown media in the last 6 days have yet to report ANY facts on Palin.”
True - but they've talked endlessly about smears and innuendos. Right about how much delving has been done in the last 7 days or so than about BHO over the last year and a half. The media (in the tank for obama) do NOT want or care to report facts on Palin, because the facts are GOOD about her.

specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. You know exactly what this would consist of: Idiotic "gotcha" pop quizzes. "Governor Palin, are you telling us you DON'T KNOW who the oil minister of Cameroon is?" To be followed by "New doubts arise on Palin competence" headlines.
So flippin' predictable.

yes, agreed! however, who should be picked for the moderator job of each debate? BHO’s camp made known long ago that they’d not tolerate a debate if fox new channel was involved. can’t think of who’d be fair and ethical for those debates, but it’s oh so important.
