Putin spent his whole life in service to the KGB secret police which enslaved and tyrannized the Russian people under the heel of Soviet Communism. Putin's father was in the NKVD, the predecessor to the KGB. Putin's whole life has been dedicated to destroying his own people. His is a traitor to Russia and always has been.

The KGB trampled on Russians, but did this to further the power of Russia (there were mixed motives of course - Socialism or sadism or personal power) But I do believe Russia’s greatness mattered to them. Russia is its people, even though its rulers have disposed of them as they saw fit for centuries.
