GOP Convention: The Wee Barracuda

As the crowd settled into their seats on this final night of the Convention, Senator Mitch McConnell presided over the formal nomination of Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential candidate.

(In a nice touch, they played Heart's "Barracuda" immediately after her nomination was in the books.)

As part of the formalities, McConnell officially designated a dozen or so people to inform Palin of her nomination and to act as her official escorts.

One of the designees was Piper Palin (baby Trig's impossibly adorable coiffeuse). Dare we hope for a Piper blog on the campaign site? Or might we risk acute cuteness overdose?

Next to Piper, Knut the polar bear is basically unmistakable from that winner of the world's ugliest dog contest.

My only advice to the Palin family is if her 17-year-old daughter is engaged to Levi Johnston, then they should be married ASAP as quietly as possible.

Yup, my wife was EMPHATIC about the same thing and I agree. I give the boyfriend some credit for having the guts to show up at the convention knowing why the whole universe was staring at him.

Well I'm surprised no one has commented on the boyfriends tattoo around this ring-finger of the daughter name..you can see it in this photo and they did a closeup shot on tv.. it not a new tattoo .. bottom line these two have been together for some time....
