“This year she submitted to Congress a list of Alaska projects worth $197.8 million, including $2 million to research crab productivity in the Bering Sea and $7.4 million to improve runway lighting at eight Alaska airports.”
I don’t see a problem with these. Crab fishing is a big industry in Alaska. I know if I was a pilot, I would like to have good lighting on any runway I was trying to land on...call me crazy.
It's big enough to pay for its own research, then.
When she took over, the previous administration had already put 550 million worth of earmarks in the budget. She’s down to less than 200 million in this year’s budget. I suppose the line of attack is she didn’t go completely Cold Turkey on earmarks all at once?
