On the one hand, we have an irascible Republican who is wrong as often as he is right, but at least has the courage to act according to his conscience often enough to earn the enmity of party hacks.

According to the American Conservative Union, McCain has been right 82.16% of the time during his 25 years in the Senate. He only got 65% in 2006 but was rated at 80% 2007.
