Many a good parent has had a teen aged daughter come home pregnant since the beginning of time. While most denominations of Christianity condemns premarital sex, and premarital pregnancy, once the deed has been done, there is not much else to do. Unlike Muslims, most Christian denominations that I am aware of do not advocate the stoning or beheading of the female to “maintain” family honor. Instead, they deal with the problem much in the way the Palin family is. I'm not sure what you and others are wanting done with respect to Governor Palin and her daughter. Should Governor Palin publicly disown her daughter? Would that make the situation any different? I think not. Harsh words, hate filled judgments pronounced from those who apparently have never made a mistake, pointing fingers, none of these offer a productive solution to the situation that Bristol Palin faces. Did she make a mistake? Yes. Should we publicly flog her? I think not! I do not see what, if anything, publicly humiliating this child gains...if anything, it would only seem to encourage teens who make a mistake to try to obtain an abortion to avoid the humiliations, the accusations, the attacks on her character that Bristol Palin is now facing.I'm sure it would have been much easier for Bristol Palin to have obtained an abortion before anyone knew, and she would have not had to had faced any of this. Yet she chose to carry her child to term, to raise her child and to responsibly handle the mistake she made by giving into her hormones. Is it an ideal situation? NO, but it's perhaps the best outcome that could have occurred. No amount of screaming, name calling, alleging, public flogging, etc will make Bristol Palin a virgin again.

As for the political party, I seriously doubt that those of us who are pro-life would be nearly as critical as you assume should Governor Palin had been a Democrat and her daughter decided to come forward, and decide to have her child.

It seems as though within a years time, Governor Palin has personally faced the issues surrounding the abortion debate and both times she, and her family, have come down on the side of life despite the difficult road that lays ahead of all involved.
