I am beginning to think that this is less about Bristol’ ... pregnancy and more about a bunch of disaffected [folks] attempting to hurt the McCain campaign.

Whether that is true or not, and it may be a big part, I don’t deny them their concerns about this. The way the family, and by extension the campaign, deal with the issue will affect the future of America! It is silly to minimize that! As you may have read, MY first reaction was “OH NO”... and I really had to examine the situation, and I’ve been high on Palin for at least six months!
People need to digest this carefully, and what it means for them and to them and to their vote. Post#1107 is addresses this very well.
Neither do I. I simply refute their accusation or question them for their basis of complaint. The fact that they have offered no substantive response other than repeated attack phrases should give everyone reading this thread pause as to their real motivation.

This is where you and I can respectfully disagree. The fact that Sarah Palin's teenage daughter sinned in a way the majority of her peers do is unfortunate but will not, in itself, affect the future of America. The fact that the Palin family chose to deal with this situation honorably sets a good example for the millions of families who are dealing or will deal with a situation like this.
It is silly to minimize that!
I am certainly not minimizing anything. I condemn the sin completely, but I appreciate the way they are dealing with the situation. I suspect that most democrats and most of the people condemning Bristol here would have quietly pushed for their own daughter to have a abortion.

Me too, but I am not going to condemn Gov. Palin or Sen. McCain for their judgment in this matter. Sarah Palin's mothering ability might possibly be a legitimate topic for discussion, but not her or Sen. McCain's judgment based on what we know about this situation.
