Vanity: The 'experience' to run for President
bushfamfan | 8/31/08 | bushfamfan

Posted on 08/31/2008 8:27:22 AM PDT by bushfamfan

We keep hearing about 'experience' to run for President and run the country, naturally only used against Gov. Sarah Palin. I am curious as to what you all find the proper experience to be nominated and elected?

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: election; obama; palin; president
It is interesting to note that Obama was mentioned as a future presidential nominee and the lovefest started during his Senate candidacy and let us not forget they played that president card with Jennifer Granholm in Michigan as well. Anyone remember the media pushing them as future great candidates for the presidency and they had not even won the elections yet and had no 'experience' and yet they have the audacity to question someone like Sarah Palin when if she and Obama were to actually line up ACCOMPLISHMENTS she would put Obama to shame in that he has done nothing with his 'experience'! Interesting to note that now Gov. Granholm has destroyed the state of Michigan that was great after John Engler and she comes in and completely destroys it. Not to forget she is Canadian, but I find it interesting the media was for this presidential push and I have not forgotten.

Obama's Experience: A college education where his mentor was a devote communist. 20 plus years of worship by a pastor whose teaching centers around destroying whitie. A political career that was launched by an admitted terrorist.

Rather than arguing "experience", I think we should argue "experience and judgment". Ted Kennedy has enough experience to be president, but I would question his judgment.

In terms of "experience and judgment", Sarah Palin blows a lot of people out of the water. In terms of raw "experience", you could find plenty of hack politicians who were mayor of a larger town or Governor of a more populated state for a longer period of time.

She doesn't have as much experience as say......a community organizer. We all know that making speeches at churches requires more responsibility than running a Sate. (sarc)

AMEN! and spot on. Here's what matters more than what the libs want to call "experience".

1) Loves America and its foundational values and principles and does not hate those things.

2) Committed to life and the pursuit of happiness through the free market and property ownership as opposed to committed to the culutre of death, group speak, socialism, and the infringement of property rights and destruction of the free market.

3) Wants to defeat the enemies of liberty and not negotiate with or in any way appease them.

4) Places American soveriegnty and independence above global dependence and international interests.

5) Articulate and is honest on issues with integrity and an all-America, America 1st attitude as opposed to evasive and dishonest with a global marxist perspective.

etc., etc.

I will take a large dose of those qualities over all the insider, political experience out there...any day, any time.

PTA presidents and hockey Moms who become mayors- ARE community organizers. And not paid from special interest slush funds like ACORN

If someone could find a mom who raised 5 kids in a Christian home who beat an incumbent Governor in a primary and a past Governor in a general election, that would be enough experience for me.

Fallacy: Sarah Palin is too inexperienced to be Vice President, while Barack Obama is experience enough to be President.

There seems to be a difference in leadership and decision making ability.

Pallin has proven leadership and has make some great decisions (the bridge to nowhere and standing up to corruption).

Obama seems to only have popular support because he paints a fuzzy goal of CHANGE AND HOPE without telling us any specifics. We know that it is the tired old Democratic programs that don't work. It appears that it is just a con game being played on the public which will only lead to socialism/communism and the downfall of the American Dream and way of life.

Gov Pallin has more experience and accomplishments than Obama and the Democratic Congress under Pelosi and Reid combined.

Don't forget an indicted Chicago gangster's longstanding financial and political support for Obama. This corrupt operative facilitated the purchase of Obama'a stately manse by buying the adjoining property. You know the story. Now about Sarah. I'm just an everyday Alaskan, but here's my take. She has unassailable conservative values, rock solid integrity, strong support for the military (my daughter had breakfast with her and discussed pipeline issues when deployed in Kuwait),has an 80% approval rating among Alaskans of all parties. She has gone up against the state political structure whenever necessary to do the right thing for Alaska. She just recently called the state legislature into special session to come up with an agreement on a gas pipeline plan, and held their feet to the fire until they got it done. No previous governor has accomplished this. In short, she has executive experience with a record of real accomplishment.

Experience necessary to be nominated and elected President of the United States?

Well, according to the MSM, as follows:

1. Having been a “community organizer”.

2. Having been in a state legislature for a while.

3. Having spent a hundred and forty some days in the Senate, most of it campaigning for President.

4. Having made a whirlwind trip a couple of weeks ago for photo-ops with various world leaders for campaign commercials as his claim to “foreign policy experience”. (He’s also listed as head of some so-called “foreign policy committee” in the Senate which I understand has NEVER held a single meeting with Obama present (anything new on this as of this date?)

5. Giving a good talk, as long as there’s a teleprompter with a written speech; otherwise,in the absence of a teleprompter, being good at pronouncing “Uh, Uh, Uh, YES we can, Change, Uh, Uh,Uh”.

6. Being good buds with “community organizers” like Wm. Ayers (the unrepentant radical who was involved in radical terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and other American institutions and was instrumental in launching Obama’s political career), the Reverend Jeremiah Wright (the hatred-spewing radical “preacher” and hater of America who was Obama’s preacher and “spiritual adviser” for twenty years), the slumlord, Rezko, who gave Obama a sweetheart deal on the mansion and property where he lives.

Again, I say it here like I’ve heard it elsewhere:

Sarah Palin runs a STATE !

Barack Obama runs his MOUTH !

. . and besides, Obama is going to be running against McCain for President.

... not to mention, Joe Biden has experience . . being wrong most of the time.

I heard and read this lots yesterday.

If I was the Dumbocrats it would be wise to lay off the experience business.

There is a BIG difference between Palin and Obama and it just isn't where the calf sucks so to speak.

I look at Obama and see a pathetic misguided suck up willing to:

flip and flop like a minnow out of the bucket
lie on a moments notice
grovel with his DNC plantation masters
sacrifice Jesus teachings to please various minority groups.

In Palin I see,,,,,well the opposite.

I believe the difference can be summed up in a couple of words Common Sense.

SHE’S got IT.

He DOESN’T.

On paper she looks "iffy" because she hasn't been a governor long.

I think more of her experience because she did not set out to be a politician unlike BO, Biden, Clinton, et al. She has the kind of "real life" experience that Washington is devoid of and badly needs. Palin appears sharp and astute. Just in the short time she has been in politics she's brought genuine and necessary change to her state without regard to partisanship.

From appearances, she is admirable as a public servant, fashioned in finest mold of the American mystique. She appears to have "common sense" and acts with a sense of right and wrong, not because things are easy or politically expedient. It's a breath of fresh air!

I do not see this in the self-styled "ruling class" of lawyers like BO and Biden who represent discredited and failed policies of the past dressed up with a pretty new bow.

I'd be more at ease if she'd had a full term as governor under her belt, she's actually been that "buck stops here" person. She's been the "decider" to use a Bush-ism. Obama does not have that. Worse, any seriously analysis of his campaign and proposals shows this weakness.

In a very real and genuine sense, Obama is the least experienced of the four yet he wants the top job! He doesn't know what he doesn't know. His ambition reaches well beyond his capability. BO's myopic Marxism makes him unsuitable for POTUS.

The president picks a staff, delegates, and leads them. The staff & cabinet is where the issue expertise and experience needs to be. The president needs to set visions/goals, delegate, and listen to the staff. If something happens to McCain, Palin will still have his staff and their experience. She needs the experience to lead, not to be an expert at every issue. She has been an excellent leader everywhere she's been.

The hostess with the moosest Mark Steyn

Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are more or less the same age, but Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas (to reprise a famous line on the Rev Jackson) Senator Obama ain’t run nothin’ but his mouth. She’s done the stuff he’s merely a poseur about. Post-partisan? She took on her own party’s corrupt political culture directly while Obama was sucking up to Wright and Ayers and being just another get-along Chicago machine pol (see his campaign’s thuggish attempt to throttle Stanley Kurtz and Milt Rosenberg on WGN the other night).
