It is legitimate to ask of McCain, it is legitimate to ask you.

I'm guessing that some of the houses 'owned' by McCain are actually in his wife's name. A perfect answer for McCain, if it should come up again, is for him to say "Some of those properties are in my wife's name, and I wouldn't think of meddling in her personal business." It would get him brownie points from women all over the country! ;o)

All McCain has to say is I have spent all my time doing the business of a US Senator. In my family, like millions of other families in this country, my wife takes care of all the family business.

He has actually said this. As I understand most are held in trust and John has no claim to them. I am not sure which ones, though.

He was interviewed today and asked about this and he said most of these were investments. You have to do something with money. They invest it is real estate. Sounds innocent enough.

Could very well have been the card processing spin off... in addition to other stuff going on.

They were also very active in acquisitions... could have owned the Midland Bank under either the Mercantile National Bank, Dallas brand or the MBank brand. That would not surprise me... I seem to remember a major Midland presence but never got out there.

All of that was a lifetime ago. The only reason I know the MBank/FDIC/BancOne years for sure is because it happened shortly after I transferred there in late ‘88.

On to other topics.
