Because it's distracting nonsense.
Timing. Wait about 10 days or so.
538 US citizens pledged to vote for him are running for the position of Elector for President and Vice President of the United States.
When and if at least 270 of those individuals are elected, and after they meet and vote on December 8, 2008, the question will begin to arise whether the individual known as Barack Obama is "eligible to the Office".
No court would dare to bar Joe Blow of Rhode Island from standing for the office of Elector, presuming Joe Blow is a citizen and otherwise qualified by the laws of Rhode Island. And until Joe Blow casts his vote for an ineligible person, no legal or Constitional issue arises.
Legally, there is no prohibition, but it would be a killer politically. Many Americans hold dual citizenship.
All states have provisions where any citizen can question and bring suit against someone regarding the eligibility of that person to run for any given public office. It has seldom been done before but it is provided for. Hopefully other people in other states will bring suit also. I think the republicans would have brought suit after the convention in order to make it harder for Hillary to jump in. Now if this guy wins, or ever sows doubt among the super delegates, Obama is toast and Hillary steps in there slick as snot(snot being at term well suited to the Clintons)
According to Pissant there are other suits coming out against Obama.
So you like your Presidents to have dual citizenship, I take it. Nice.
I call BS.
What is your Constitutional or statutory reference that says this is true?
The constitution says you cannot hold dual citizenship and run for office of President. If he renounced it he must disclose the former citizenship when announcing his candidacy, if he didn't then he is once again disqualified. Yes many Americans hold dual citizenship but they had better not try to run for the office of President while they hold them. It doesn't affect anything else and doesn't apply to other offices, but it is a prohibition, LEGALLY. Read the constitutional requirements for holding office of President of the United States of America.
This guy is a Democrat and Hillary Supporter. He's a political activist, along with having held posts with the Dem party in Pa. He's a player in 911fortheTruth.com.
Freepers have speculated that the reason Hillary's brother and some of her people met with McCain people yesterday, was to give them a heads-up about this suit.
I've speculated that perhaps the Riady's of The Lippo Group in Indonesia are still helping the Clintons out. They'd be in a good position to get poop on Obama's records in Indonesia.
Hey, I'm the one agreeing with Rush on this. You're the one agreeing with a Hillary supporting Truther.
Read the constitutional requirements for running for the office of President of the United States of America. You cannot hold dual citizenship and run for President. If you renounce your citizenship and then run for office you must declare this when announcing your candidacy, if not you are guilty of fraud and you are disqualified. He is also guilty of fraud because his name is Soretoro and not Obama. This is another lie and also disqualifies him again. When you call BS you must supply me with the statute that says you can have dual citizenship and run for President. I would like to see it since it doesn’t exist.
Article II, Clause 5.
Obama’s loyalty is divided between nations.
Nah, this has no chance to work.
You know Rush isn't going to jump on this until it's circulated for a while longer. He didn't report the Edwards scandal until it finally came to a head. I can understand his hesitancy on things like this.
Now why would a US citizen have a passport from another country?
I don’t see where the constitution says that.
