Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH) Dies of Aneurysm at 58
Fox News Alert | 08-20-08 | Fox News Live

Posted on 08/20/2008 11:14:54 AM PDT by KJC1

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress, died Wednesday evening at a Cleveland area hospital after suffering an aneurysm.

Tubbs Jones, 58, chaired the House Ethics Committee and was one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest supporters during the Democratic primaries.

The liberal Democrat, first elected in 1998, suffered a brain hemorrhage while driving her car in Cleveland Heights Tuesday night, said Dr. Gus Kious, president of Huron Hospital. He said the “very serious” hemorrhage was caused by an aneurysm that burst in an inaccessible part of her brain.

Her death was announced late Wednesday in a statement from the family, Huron Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic. They said she died at 6:12 p.m.

You are a fine addition to this forum. (That’s sincere, not sarcastic. I’m glad you found this place.)

"Into Paradise may the angels lead you,
At your coming may the martyrs receive you,
And lead you into the holy city Jerusalem.
May the choirs of angels receive you,
And with Lazarus who once was poor,
May you have peace everylasting."

We never know when our time is coming. Lord, have mercy.

There is a specialty in Radiology...Interventional Neuroradiologists.

Certainly the “Rock Stars” of Radiology, they are highly specialized and highly paid, but I think quite worth it.

They can evaluate people who are at risk for aneurysms (there is often a gentic component to it) and do some pretty amazing things. Their specialty is to guide catheters into remote parts of the brain, insert coils and inject a special glue into forming aneurysms. The glue hardens and seals off the aneurysm.

The people are out of the hospital in a day. Contrast this with having to do major brain surgery, shaved head, skull cut open, digging around in the brain types of activity that sometimes left people with various deficits after the surgery.

These people walk out next day and are as good as new. It is quite amazing. I work with one guy, he is sometimes a bit of a prima donna and can flaunt without consequence some of the the rules organizations lay down, but it is hard to argue with the results.

If someone gives them a hard time about something, they will simply weigh anchor and go somewhere else and get paid better.

She’s with our Lord now. Godspeed and give comfort to her family and friends.

It would be a big boost for the black community if she was an organ donor and they let everyone know. Many black people won’t donate organs and as a result, more blacks are dying from kidney failure, etc. It is not a racism issue, but plain genetics that blacks are more likely to match blacks.

If I have a serious medical concern that requires surgery, I want a prima donna to do the job. They can't stand the thought of not getting it right.

We should pray for the repose of her soul, but we should certainly not eulogize her. She had a 100 percent pro-abort, 0 percent pro-life voting record. Sadly, she devoted her relatively short life to the culture of death.

Nonsense. If Christian values or anything for that matter prevents laughing at a murderer’s misfortune then it certainly prevents laughing at a shoplifter’s horrible death.

Nonsense yourself. You're still scrambling things. It's not compassion that keeps me from laughing at Teddy Kennedy's cancer - I just don't see a humorous connection.

But go right ahead and keep 'barging into funerals' to lament everyone's lack of compassion....

Hmmm...perhaps THIS is an example of the compassion I should show in not joking when somebody dies:

Two shot at Juneteenth celebration in Minneapolis

Mr. Pumblechook to WOBBLY BOB

Any truth to the rumor that juneteenth is a celebration of the invention of the cheap, disposable crack pipe?

That is what I heard at a McCain call center tonight, on the outskirts of Cleveland. They are keeping her alive in case she was an organ donor, and also something about relatives being notified.

I do NOT lament the lack of compassion. Again, I lament the fact that we are required to kiss Teddy’s fat sub-human murdering ass because of our Christian values (at least that’s what I was told at the time) but we laugh at dead shoplifters.

Had they kept her on life suppoort and on the ballot, she would, no doubt, have won in November. Suggests a need for a legislated term limit not one imposed by Mother Nature.

I think your problem stems from the fact that you have observed the lowest common denominator, so you insist on acting like the lowest common denominator.

Well, that is false, and your response is childish. So your argument now is "I saw someone acting childish elsewhere so I demand the right to act childish here?"

Please, I'm trying to help you out.

Prayers for her survivors. May they find peace within themselves, and celebrate her life, instead of mourning her death.

I missed your original post before it was removed but I have no compassion for Kennedy either.....I detest him for his values and the widespread damages his decades in the Senate have allowed him to inflict on this country. I detested him before he was diagnosed and I detest him now in spite of his illness.
