Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH) Dies of Aneurysm at 58
Fox News Alert | 08-20-08 | Fox News Live

Posted on 08/20/2008 11:14:54 AM PDT by KJC1

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress, died Wednesday evening at a Cleveland area hospital after suffering an aneurysm.

Tubbs Jones, 58, chaired the House Ethics Committee and was one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest supporters during the Democratic primaries.

The liberal Democrat, first elected in 1998, suffered a brain hemorrhage while driving her car in Cleveland Heights Tuesday night, said Dr. Gus Kious, president of Huron Hospital. He said the “very serious” hemorrhage was caused by an aneurysm that burst in an inaccessible part of her brain.

Her death was announced late Wednesday in a statement from the family, Huron Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic. They said she died at 6:12 p.m.

Nonsense. If Christian values or anything for that matter prevents laughing at a murderer’s misfortune then it certainly prevents laughing at a shoplifter’s horrible death.

Mine too. I was 18 when she died from a congenital aneurysm in 1971. The first one didn’t kill her but did put her in an almost coma. She had a second one later that night that shut down all brain activity. She was only 46.

Prayers being offered.

“....Brain aneurysm is sometimes very swift...”

You are right. I lost a close friend the same way. Big laugh at a party with friends and he fell dead.

Same age as Tim Russert when he died. And only two months apart. 58 is just way too young to die.

I wondered what the consequences were of this happening while she was driving. Look at what the brave cop did .. God bless him and be with Ms. Tubbs-Jones and her family.

~~~~
“According to a police report, an officer was driving behind Tubbs Jones’ car at about 9 p.m.ET and observed her weaving.
After a couple of turns, the officer turned on his lights to stop the congresswoman. When she pulled to the side, her car then started to roll across the lanes of oncoming traffic. The officer then pulled his cruiser in front of her car to block it from oncoming traffic, the report said.
When the officer walked up to her sedan, he noticed she was in “medical distress” and called for an ambulance.”
I think it was Tubbs Jones who shouted the “power to the people” which Laura Ingraham plays on her radio show.
She was a loyal Hillary supporter and she was always smiling and bubbly on TV.
Foxnews reported they were keeping her on life support because she was an organ donor.
I TOTALLY agree with you. Amazing how many ill thought libs pop up to anoint pathetic defenders of the conservative way of life. You have freedom of speech and of the pen to express your “RIGHT” to say what ever you wish. Funny how some wish to silence you because “you” don't agree with how “they” feel. This thread and the responses disgusts me too.
Gone just like that, no real chance to say goodbye.
I don't even know who this person is, but I've been thinking about her all day. You never know w/an aneurysm, and tho young people can die from them too, when you hit your 50s, you start thinking about this stuff.
My husband died suddenly and I often think, and pray for, time to say good bye to my son when it's my time, even tho he'll probably just complain that I'm talking too much - as usual.
O Lord, we pray to you, ease the suffering of her family
and comfort them in this time of grief. Amen.
Her death was announced at 7:20 pm. Prayers to the family at her unexpected and untimely death. I thought she was awesome, and I knew of no one who did not respect her despite political differences.
Very sad news. Here in NE Ohio, I saw her a lot on local news. Her warmth and genuineness couldn't be faked, and the 11th district could (and likely will) do much worse.
Prayers for her family. Her son is now an orphan and that hurts no matter what your age.
