vs a Top Russian Official
Saakashvili talked about freedom and how the Russian Military had already been there when they started firing on them.
The Russian is next, it’ll be interesting to see how Blitzer treats Communist./s
And, as an extra-added-bonus I believe polling data indicates that the next generation is trending much more strongly Pro-Life.
Woffie has on Richardson, who surprisingly enough, says McCain is right. But then goes on to trash Bush because of Iraq and Afghanistan and how that hurt our relationship with Russia. In typical liberal dem fashion, it’s Bush’s fault.
I am going to guess he is not going to be the VEEP since he hasn’t shaved his face! HA.

to become NATO member: Merkel
AFP ^ | 17 Aug 2008

TBILISI (AFP) German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Sunday in the Georgian capital that the ex-Soviet republic, currently mired in conflict with Russia, will join NATO.
“Georgia will become a member of NATO if it wants to — and it does want to,” she said before talks with President Mikheil Saakashvili in Tbilisi.
It was one of the strongest statements yet of support for Georgia’s NATO membership bid, which is fiercely opposed by Russia.

WOO HOO! God bless you, Angela .. and the sane Europeans!
As the saying goes, if you want a friend in politics, buy a dog.
Remember that when President Washington was completing his term in office, and supporting his Vice President for elevation to the Presidency, opposition pamphlets appeared saying that Washington and Adams were traitors, selling out the country to the British King. These pamphlets were printed with the financial support of the leaders of the Democratic Republicans, Jefferson and Madison.
just resaw snippets of the warrent debate in contrast with the desperate spin of the talking heads,
Obama was clearly a throw away senatorial candidate.
I bet his election went something like this.
“Barak H. Obama, we can’t win in your state because we are up against a well funded republican. We can’t offer you any real support but we need a person (see black) to keep the numbers up to keep from being routed.
So if you agree to be our candidates, knowing you are going to lose, we will give you a prime spot at the convention (see not cost us money and jessie jackson can’t bitch) to give a national speech so you can run next time for congress or governor.”
THEN THE REPUBLICAN had a divorce scandal and Obama won by default with no opposition. (keys does not count)
Also a new thread on last night response from Byron York at

I am not at all sure how you reached this conclusion, at least from my little narrative.
Because I don't think Russia will prevail either way.
I think the USA will quietly equip the Georgian army as well as send in a few military "teachers". I think that very quietly those Russian military guys, who are stealing copper pipe, did you hear this?....will be blipped off easily.....one by one given a ticket to freedom, given some money, or maybe some vodka to warm the chill nights.
In time I think the pitiful Russian force will wane and Georgia will assume control of the country.
Putin was desperate and hey, his ploy might work. As others on this thread have said, Dubya's on the job and someday he, and Cheney, won't be. Obama would probably give Putin Tiblisi and throw in Sacramento for good measure.
I think Putin will lose with this battle.
There's also the possibility that the Russians will die laughing at the sight of the Georgian President's hair. It's a longshot but keep it in mind.
I wonder if McCain’s comments will help the California marriage amendment pass.
Say she steals the nomination from Obama and offers him the VP slot. Do you really believe he will take it? And what would the reaction of the blacks seeing one of their own being AGAIN disrespected, and the youth vote, who see Obama as something 'different" from the everyday pol?
I was more impressed with his ability to make contact with the audience than his actual answers. Not only did he make his answers forceful and direct but they were from a real person with real views. Not canned, poll driven responses.
By the way I see Senator McCain as a latter day Velveteen Rabbit. He is real because he has experienced life--both ups and downs--both devotion to others and devotion to oneself. He is also real because he is loved by many.
I think I will refer to Senator McCain as my "Velveteen Rabbit" when I think about him. Williams's timeless tale was written in the early 1920's. It lives once again in a political campaign. He looks dilapidated and worn, but that is the way you look when you are real. Every story, after all, is eventually a love story.
Nonetheless, it's embarrassing.
Pawlenty reminds me of Dan Quayle. I hope it isn’t going to be him.
Bobby Jindal was very much on his game . .. he would be a plus to the ticket.
I think Heather Wilson of New Mexico would be a fantastic VP choice. I don’t see why they are considering a lot of people who will create problems like Ridge or Lieberman when Wilson would do wonders with the female vote.
Romney was okay . . I like him better than Pawlenty anyway.
Richardson is outright lieing on CNN about what Obama’s initial position was in the Russia/Georgia situation.
Woffie let’s it slide right by.
And Richardson once again blames everything on Iraq.
Everything is Bush’s fault and Obambi is the ONE and he will sing kumbuya with the world and heal all evils. Pathetic.
Shame on Woffie, but no surprises on his not contesting what Richardson said.
Isn’t Eric Cantor going to be on that CNN show today?
Do you honestly believe the clintons could stop themselves (or even care)?

LATE EDITION (CNN) : Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M.;
Richardson “we’ve neglected a relationship with Russia”
“tough aggressive diplomacy”
“McCain’s making Bellicose statements”
“McCain wants to isolate Russia, we need to engage them”
“G8 is not much of a lever”
“international public pressure”
“realistic tough diplomacy”
“build a relationship to put enormous pressure on Russia”
“can’t just engage in rhetoric, you got to act”
“smart and tough diplomacy which we neglected because all of our resources are in Iraq”
“Clinton, Obama camps are coming together”
“she is going to pledge her delegates to Senator Obama I was a little uneasy till that was worked out”
I agree completely with you on Wilson. She is terrific on air, very smart, ex-military I believe, and from the right part of the country if you want to play the geographical game of VEEP choice.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I think we will all be surprised by whom McCain picks, and she may be part of that surprise.
McCain needs a safe choice.
It is his to lose now.
NO RINOS as defined by the base.
NO appologists
NO beltway country clubbers.
