That is a hippie comment IMO. “Do you want your children to die for this cause”. Well heck no! I don’t want my children to die at all. But if my grown son wants to fight for what is right, I will be proud of him.
And I'm sure our sons and our military could if they happen to be allowed to use live ammo. But the politics of conflict makes me not very trusting of some of the situations that are going on. For example, my idea of going house to house in Iraq involves 155's not Infantry.
Now you and I agree on that point. I do not like the men going into houses with potential hand to hand gun combat. Or booby trapped homes. But I also understand if we were to go to that level of using tanks, we might as well just wipe out whole neighborhoods with air fire.
