I took the essay to mean that Keyes is criticizing Dobson for the change in his position, based upon the reason that he gave for making it in the first place.
Really, if he intended to do a flip flop, Dobson should never have made that statement in the first place.
Keyes is taking Dobson to task for his inconsistency. If you never made a statement like Dobson, that you would never vote for McCain out of conscience, then it doesn’t have relevance toward you.
I read most of this and just garnered criticism for Dobson out of it which he richly deserves for his behavior this election season.
I have personal knowledge of Dr. Dobson’s kindness and consistent Christian character, however, I am disappointed in his pronouncements during the primary election season.
Focus on the Family’s agenda is far better served by a McCain presidency than an Obama presidency. He must know that.
