McCAIN WOULD DO WELL TO PICK SOMEONE THAT NOBODY HAS EVER HEARD OF.............
Traditionally, congressmen do not get picked for VP tickets. The last one I can remember who did is William Miller of New York who lost with Goldwater in 1964. Expect to hear a lot of comparisons to Cantor and Miller if he gets the nod.
The other misgiving I have is that Cantor may be one of the best young guys on our bench. If McCain loses (as still seems likely), it could rule out Cantor for a future shot. If he wins, then we would have a good four years to evaluate him or anyone else McCain picks. Would the selection of Cantor get me to vote for McCain, albeit reluctantly? Yes it would! I've stated he cannot go further left than Mitt Romney and Cantor is definitely to Romney's right.
