Church Acquires Big Ass Fan

A New York Roman Catholic church said it is attempting to solve its over-heating problems with a product bearing a name unusual for a church -- a Big Ass Fan.

Members of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Brooklyn said they raised money to purchase the product from Big Ass Fans regardless of its name, the Daily News, a New York newspaper, reported Wednesday.

The name of the company isn't something that you'd want to put in print, but I had to laugh - it is a big-ass fan, said Ronald Holder, a parishioner for more than 20 years who helped lead the fundraising effort to purchase the fan.

Other church officials were more surprised to learn the product's name but they said they are grateful for the cool it will hopefully bring to the often 90-degree church, the Daily News said.

I have one of their coffee mugs. I turn the logo around and sip out of my left hand when ‘certain’ people enter my office.

Good fans and BIG.

What's wrong with the name? It's wonderfully Biblical!

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; --John 12:14a

Oh, I get it...it's "big" that they're talking about! ;-)

The jaw bone of an ass was a popular smiting tool also. When you are smited by an ass jaw bone you know you’ve been smitten.

Which reminds me of a radio commercial for a discount wheel place here in Southern California, where “Dubya” was suggesting listeners go out and spend their rebate checks on some “big a[bleep!]s wheels” for their ride.
