Republican congressional candidates are bracing for a gusher of ads attacking their ties to oil companies

Just have some ads linking the RATS to the enviro extremists and eco-terrorists. (This isn't rocket surgery, ya know...)

This will appeal to their idiotic anti-capitalistic base, but the average American realize we need to drill more and tax less.

Well, when I read this, my first thought is “the Dems can’t be that stupid, can they?”

You go to a Doc for a medical problem, a lawyer for a legal problem— if you have an oil problem, where else would you turn?

The gasbags in Washington sure aren’t going to fuel up your car...

Then, I remember the 2006 elections, and damn! maybe we are that stupid...

THe Grand Oil Party. I love it. I think the Republicans should relish this title, and beat the democrats over the head with it.

“We’re the Grand Oil Party, and they’re the Grand NO OIL Party.”

Works for me.

Yes, Republicans are FOR AMERICAN OIL COMPANIES and OPPOSED TO MIDDLE EASTERN OIL COMPIES, unlike the Democrats who like forcing us to send hundreds of billions of dollars to our enemies every year !! Republicans would rather keep those dollars at home, growing the American economy and providing Americans jobs, and at the same time bringing down the cost of energy. Democrats say screw you America.

You know, if our gov’t was more pro industry, lowering corporate taxes, that would save jobs, lowering energy costs by drilling here in the USA that will create jobs and reduce our balance of payments overseas...which will bring security to pension funds...etc.

Yes, let’s be more pro industry which in turn is pro consumer and worker...

Yes, bring it on...

But is there a politician out there who can articulate this and stand up to these idiots in congress...?

Well, the democrats are the ones on charge of congress. They promised lower gas prices in 2006. Gas prices went up.

The proper response to this is to run even more drill here, drill now, democrats don't want cheap gas ads. What will probably happen is the GOP will trip over themselves trying to defend against witch hunts.

Democrats blame energy producers and futures markets for our country’s energy problems. The Democrats have created these problems and they should be held accountable. I just hope the Republicans don’t cower and back down when they are falsely accused by the Democrats and the MSM.

OIL...turned this mostly pastoral nation, into the industrial and economic powerhouse that it is. Dims are attacking the mothers milk that fed and nourished thwem into their mid-life spoiled brattery. It delivers their food and clothes to them, and is part of their IPods, Blackberrys, and fancy cars..Oil powers their plane rides, their amusement park seats, if not for oil, there would never have been an Internet...Go ahead and attack Republicans for fighting to keep you from going back to grubbing for food, soup kitchens, and wearing burlap sacks for colothes...Enjoy the big entertainment of the week, being the guy who has a harmonica at the camp down by the city dump..as you scratch your fleas after the 93 degree days out uin the sun...

So, the evil republicans are linked somehow to oil interests who can get us out of the energy mess if we simply allow the free market in the US to open to them...which you can bet the oil companies are lobbying for and this gets reported as something terrible with no proof of corruption.

But to the Dems and the left, the Free Market represents evil.

But Obama has very solid and direct ties to evil, shady war profiteering and corruption and their is a deafening silence about that.

THE ALSAMMARAE-REZKO-AUCHI TRIANGLE CONNECTION TO BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA SHOULD BRING HIM DOWN

Unfortunately, for us and for our nation, we've got a lot of RINO-weasels in our midst. Their arms are all stretched out of shape from reaching across the aisles to grope what should be their opposite numbers.

If this were the old west we'd meet the DemocRATs and their Republicrat buddies (Chris Shays and John Warner comes to mind) at the OK Corral and finish them off, but since this is the 21st Century we could meet them at the Smithsonian and beat the crap out of them and tell them that if we catch them in the vicinity of the District of Columbia we'll trounce them again!

Since they've (the well-meaning and the not-so-well-meaning, politicians) made something messier than a dog's dinner out of our nation, our government and our constitution it's only fair that they get the licking of their lives.

After we've pummeled them awhile we should chop down some trees just to pi-- off the greenies, coat the miscreants with tar and carry them out of town where we'll warn them never to return.

Then settle down to whittling the government down the size. That would mean axing the EPA, DOE, IRS and kicking all the civilians out of the military. There isn't a job that a uniformed military personnel couldn't perform.

We'd do a lot of other things too like kicking all illegals out of the country and put a moratorium on immigration. We'd recall a lot of ambassadors to let unfriendly (most of them) nations know they've pi--ed us off, eliminate most ALL foreign aid, put Castro, Chavez, Kim ill slug, Putin, et al on notice that we will NEVER tolerate any misadventure on their part in our hemisphere.

Then we'd settle down to outlaw all subversive organizations operating within the U. S. A. : CPUSA, Islam anything, MoveOn.Org, NOW, ABA, Greenpeace, etc. etc. etc. The minimum wage would be abolished along with the NEA.

The election of senators would be placed back in the respective state houses and the terms would be the same as representatives: 2 years. Presidential terms would be expanded to two 6-year-terms.

Well, there would be a lot more to do, but if we stick together we'll get it done.

“In a political race, people will say a lot of things,” says an ad for Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn. “They’ll say Norm is a rubber stamp for the president. But he’s been ranked as one of the most independent senators. They’ll say he’s in the pocket of big oil. But he voted to take away their special tax breaks.”

Others are appealing directly to the Democrats. Sen. Gordon Smith, R-Ore., responded to a recent attack ad by associating himself with Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

I read the article and couldn't determine who's funding these ads.

Pitty that the republican’ts haven't the testicular fortitude to respond with adds about the Democrat Oil Embargo. All you would need is a picture of a man at a gas pump, with the pump held as a gun pointing to the man who is standing with his hands in the air, and a voice over of the Dem's spewing their “We cant drill our way out” mantra.

We so need to produce our own ad with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid looking idiotic and proposing raising gas taxes. Cut clips of that in with the fact that when the Democratic congress took over, gas was $2.60 and now it's sky high. And a clip of people wanting offshore drilling. And a clip showing poor people asking for cheaper gas. Come on, RNC - this should be a cake walk!
