(WASHINGTON) — Former presidential candidate John Edwards and former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn are on a list of potential running mates for Democrat Barack Obama, according to a Michigan congresswoman.
Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, who leads the Congressional Black Caucus, said Thursday members of her caucus suggested the two at a meeting with the officials vetting candidates. The vetting team, Caroline Kennedy and Eric Holder, indicated the two were on the list.
Cheeks Kilpatrick said, “Former Sen. Sam Nunn’s name has come up, as well as John Edwards’ name has come up among our CBC members. I reported that to them and they had both of those names on their list.”
Kennedy and Holder have been meeting with members of Congress for their input.
You people are forgetting that Edwards is a Democrat. Nothing to see here, move along . . .
He was a candidate for POTUS only a matter of months ago and lied about this affair....... he’s the one who attacked the credibility of the famed “National Enquirer” and they are simply defending their reputation and their reporting. ROFL.

I guess EITHER Edwards hadn’t made it clear he didn’t want VP, or the vetters hadn’t done such a thorough vetting..or...they didn’t consider this a deal breaker...
Ordinarily I would agree with you but, this episode hits home. You see, exactly 26 years ago I was sent off to an extended tour by the Department of the Army (I was a DoD civilian and it my employer at the time) and during that time my former wife, a registered nurse, met a man whose wife was also dying of cancer and, well, I suppose I don't have to tell you the rest. I was okay after awhile, even met someone else and consider my life after the event turned out for my better...however, I had two little girls, (now grown) who were scared for life and that I do not forget nor forgive!

His poor wife elected to have a double mastectomy when her cancer returned in March of 2007. As if dealing with the trauma and ensuring low self esteem isn't bad enough, she doesn't need to be publicly humiliated, hurt or shamed by Edwards or any cheap tabloid.

I think that’s a nice spread. But it doesn’t look as though the barn is really a barn, unless the stalls for the horses are in that “covered walkway” thing, and the “barn” itself is some sort of indoor riding arena.
