Obama Shows Hawkish Side On Mideast Trip (MSM Cheerleaders trying to make Obama look tough)
CBS ^ | 7/22/2008 | Brian Montopoli

Posted on 07/22/2008 12:42:38 PM PDT by tobyhill

Not long after he touched down at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan on Saturday, Barack Obama posed for pictures with three American officials, a pair of military men in uniform, and one rather imposing statue of a bald eagle.

It was an ideal photo opportunity for a candidate looking to convince skeptics of his patriotism - just 37 percent of voters identified Obama as "very patriotic" in a recent CBS News/New York Times poll - and his toughness when it comes to foreign policy. And it was typical of the images that have come out of Obama's visit to the Middle East, a stream of television-friendly shots of the presumptive Democratic nominee chatting with troops and meeting with foreign leaders.

Obama has been careful to fortify these images with words: On Sunday, the Illinois senator urged the Bush administration to move more troops into Afghanistan as soon as possible during an appearance on "Face The Nation." He also reiterated his willingness to authorize unilateral U.S. action against terrorist targets in Pakistan's tribal areas if the Pakistani government will not act.

Obama burns another American Flag!

Old Paint Job   vs.   New Paint Job

The old was a lot better......Obama's arrogance and lack of love for America shows again.

Sounds like a unilateralist act by a rogue country. How is that different than Bush? Seems like Obama is proposing to do everything he criticizes Bush for.....What a typical politician.

“On Sunday, the Illinois senator urged the Bush administration to move more troops into Afghanistan as soon as possible during an appearance on “Face The Nation.”

If the surge failed in Iraq, why is Obama so confident that it’s going to work in Afghanistan?

(I stole this from Rush, but it’s such a great point it needs to be amplified)

It's absolutely no different than what President Bush is doing now. Maybe the MSM should follow up a bit more and ask him if he would be willing to send in large scale ground troops through the mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan?

Meanwhile:

In Manchester last night, there was just one reporter and one photographer waiting for McCain as his plane -- a white, blue and gold Boeing 737-400 emblazoned with his campaign slogan, "Reform, Prosperity, Peace" -- touched down on the Wiggins Airways tarmac.

LOL. That's too funny. Put Chrissy Matthews in the skirt and give him a pair of pom poms and they could have a good pep-rally.

Obama is transparently stupid, ill-informed, reckless, partisan, and ambitious it’s extremely difficult to imagine him in charge of anything.

He hasn’t worked a day since he was elected to the Senate and started running for President on the way home from his acceptance speech. Obama redefines worthless for the political class, and that is no mean feat.

Obama formulated his mid-east policy before he left for Iraq/Afghanistan. His ignorance on the subject is glaring. Hawkish? At best he’s a mynah bird girlie man.
