Personal friend? No.
I've met him a few times and spoken to him briefly alone. I'm still trying to get him to speak in NYC. (I was thinking speak at Columbia for a few dollars followed by a fund raiser elsewhere. I'd have to co-ordinate with the RJC for that.)
