Houston lawmaker seeks probe into Harris legal system (Jackson-Lee shennanigans)
Houston Chronicle ^ | 7/7/08 | RENEE LEE

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on Sunday called for congressional hearings to investigate what she calls ''the many downfalls" of the Harris County judicial system.

Recent incidents, including a grand jury's decision not to indict a Pasadena man who shot and killed two men suspected of burglarizing his neighbor, have brought into question whether the system is fair and unbiased, she said.

The Democrat, who represents District 18, said she is also concerned and frustrated about derogatory e-mails circulated in the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the handling of DNA evidence by the Houston Police Department crime lab and the number of deaths in the Harris County Jail during the past 10 years.

Since the grand jury did not indict Joe Horn, there is obviously something wrong, according to SJ-L, who believes the best solution is a Congressional investigation. Riiiigggghhhhhttt....

While only a libertarian is on the ballot to oppose U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, she did offend many in her district with her support for Senator Clinton.

WTG GOP.

OK, I give up. Why aren’t the Republicans even running a candidate against this nut? Totally black district?

Houston Moonbat PING.

News station KTRH is pushing this as their daily poll...

“Should Congress get involved with the problems in the Harris County District Attorney and Sheriff’s offices?”

Seeing as how the District Attorney resigned months ago, I don’t see the need for their involvement.

They are playing an audio clip about her going on about a Barbie doll with a plug of chewing tobacco and a 5th ward Barbie.

I’m not totally familiar with Houston area Congressional districts but I think it is a safe conclusion that the demographics of Jackson-Lee’s district are decidedly in favor of her incumbency. It is likely that a Republican has two chances in that district, slim and none — and slim just left town.

Been tried before. A black liberal is the only one who can get elected in that gerry mandered district. Queen Sheila has a job for life if she wants it.

The district was gerrymandered to allow Sheila a congressional seat in perpetuity. After all, it’s not like her supporters vote strictly along racial lines...

That’s what I figured. I’ve noticed a lot of the most insane RATS come from ridiculously gerrymandered districts.

Great, but then where did the quote about only a Libertarian running against Lee come from?

I don’t know the census make up but I think this is one of the minority set aside districts in Texas.

The GOP just needs to find a black Republican to run against her.

That may have been tried as well already, I do not know. But it is at least a step in the right direction, and if a sustained effort is made, maybe and I say this loosely ... maybe she can be unseated.

Because of cases like this (and John Conyers, Ted Kennedy and others ... ), IMO Term Limits for congress are needed.

Heck yeah!!! Why not...Knock yerself out...And when you find out that the law WAS followed and the Grand Jury acted within the law...

I hope the bill for all that nonsence is sent directly to Queen Shiela’s office...

Quannel the tenth sure has been quiet as of late...Somebody must have gone over to his house in Rodeo Palms just north of Hwy 6 on State 288 and intimi...intimid...harrased him somehow someway...

Haha. What is Ted Danson doing in that picture anyway? I thought the oceans were supposed to cover the whole world about 10 years ago, according to Ted Danson in the early 90s when the “global warming” scare was just getting legs among the Hollywood “elite” that needed a cause to grab hold of to make their lives have meaning. A nice picture of 3 liberal stooges.

Why doesn’t SHE tell her peeps to quit ripping people off? I’m sick of criminals thinking we owe them something and the courts agreeing.

What a shock! The remotest possibility of fabricating another racial outrage emerges...and SHAZAAM!...there's ol' Sheila, bloviating again -- with the ever-reliable Quannel the Tenth close at hand.

And the local media panders to them like they were gods.
I would upchuck at this point, but there's just nothing left.

Well, post #2 indicates that, however, there is no mention of that in the article. John Vault is a Republican and is running as one. The person who posted that has no idea what he is talking about.
