Do Liberals Love America too?
Of course not. When someone spends their entire daily efforts to destroy, degrade and demoralize something, how could they be said to love it?
They love what they want America to be. The largest Socialist Nation on the planet. They do not love or admire the America of Independence and Individualism that our Founders provided.............
No one who quotes adolescent jerkwaters like Beinart should be taken seriously. You are right, this is a whitewash for liberals who see America as raw material for their leftwing project, nothing more.
As Hillary Clinton once said, "I will pledge allegiance to the United States that could be." But she would do to the US what she did to Billyboy. Thanks but no thanks. I want no part of that rancid version of "patriotism."

Old time liberals like FDR surely loved America, but the modern variety does not. Modern liberals regard themselves as above mere loyalty to country. They regard themselves as world citizens and their goal is a worldwide leftist one-party state.
They see the West in general and America in particular as a barrier to that, and they seek the destruction of these nations. The chosen method is multi-culturalism and Cultural Marxism, in which the founding populations of these nations are constantly browbeaten with charges of racism, sexism, homophobia, intolerance, xenophobia, and so forth, until the people no longer regard their nation or civilization as worth defending. The only value we’re allowed to have is “tolerance” for other people’s values. The only way to absolve our nations of the evil they represent is to become multi-cultural and ultimately to concede the territory to other peoples.
This is the liberal goal, the destruction of the “evil” West, and it’s been in full swing since the sixties. Each year it advances a bit further and each year a cherished tradition is torn asunder by some demand from people who not only didn’t create our nations, but couldn’t have.
Precisely! One doesn’t express love and affection by constantly punching and kicking the supposed object of that love and affection. The author’s got one thing right though; at least half of this country is schizophrenic and it’s not the conservative half.

I can find common ground with a lot of people as long as they understand that free enterprise, a strong military, and as little reliance as possible from government are the cornerstones of this country. Coupled with a moral system that is derived from a Judeo-Christian ethic. That’s all. It seems too many libs think that a European kind of socialist society with a dedication to hedonism for all is the way to go. It’s not my way.
This guy is somewhat crap filled. Liberals feel no gratitude for the sacrifice of anyone. They feel envy toward people that accomplish worthy goals. They undermine the efforts of all who perform selfless acts. Liberals look the gift-horse straight in the mouth, pick up the nearest club and smash him in the teeth. Ingratitude and envy are the hallmarks of the unstable liberal stuck in a state of arrested mental development. The actions and thinking of the liberal justify their feelings of worthlessness, that in reality, describes most liberals on welfare and the ones in the workforce that do a half-assed job at any task.
Well actually I saw a photo of one of those signs in a history book about the Irish in America. It was a advert for some kind of job and the last line said No Irish Need Apply.
The secular humanist progressives hate America because of its Judeo-Christian values and principles and want to change America and convert it to Humanist values. The Marxist progressives also hate traditional American values and want to change America to socialism and eventually to Communism. Both want to weaken America as much as possible to make it possible to create a one world state that is based on either Humanist or Marxist principles.

Liberals do not love. They don’t even like themselves. Mostly they dislike or hate.

I guess Rick Moran is trying to be fair to liberals but the fact is that they’re aligned with an ideology that is explicitly anti-American and it shows. Liberals are dilute leftists, which unfortunately means liberals are dilute anti-Americans. Granted it’s a continuum and your average liberal doesn’t hate America like a full-blown lefty does, but the tendency is still there.
Also, to say that liberal anti-Americanism is really just patriotic criticism is to give liberals way too much credit. If their criticism were designed to point America back to its founding principles, this would be true. But that’s not the nature of their criticism. The principles liberals love are those of the New Deal and the Great Society, not the Constitution and the Declaration. They criticize America because it’s not the European style soft-socialist welfare state they wish it were, which is not exactly patriotic.

Liberals are now clamoring for change. The change they want is to change the freedom loving America into a Euro nanny state.
They look at the socialism of Europe and wet their pants with a passion to duplicate it here. That means eliminating all the vestiges of Christianity and personal responsibility. Especially young women who shun marriage look for a government to provide the crutch they know they must have to “have it all”
They feel guilty when their liberalism is attacked and create all sorts of rationalizations to prove their loyalty. They are not loyal however because the country they crave doesn't exist in America.
They are pacifist. They hate the concept of war because it conflicts with the basic premise that all people are good. They will not agree that some are evil because evil doesn't exist.
Liberals are not Americans, they are Euro wannabe’s. Some Democrats are waking to that realization, but being Democrats, poorly educated and generally lazy, they look past the liberalism to the promise of pie in the sky. Liberals and their propagandists are a greater enemy than Al Queda and the terrorists.
I'm as Irish as they come, at least on my dad's side (Scottish on the other), and I married a man whose grandfather came off the boat from Cork.
