If you liked the HBO special on Adams, you may enjoy one of the best books I've read, John Adams, by David McCullough. Amazingly both he and his long-time friend Thomas Jefferson died on the same day July 4, 1826. Providence watching over our country.

I’ve heard about that book. I believe David McCullough was one of the consultants on the series. I’ll definitely have to get it. I had heard about them dying on the same day even before I saw the mini-series. I think I learned that through Michael Medved’s radio program. Isn’t that odd that two of the founders would die on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Must be more than a coincidence.
