Just got here. Hello.

whatisthetruth, Happy Birthday!

I'm on hold with The Savage Nation right now. I hope I get the chance to say two things (usually you don't get two things in with him but maybe). I want to say,

1 - How homosexual marriage affect the rest of us: One specific way is what's happening in Massachusetts - Catholic adoption agencies who will not adopt out children to homosexual marriages are being told by the state they must. This is only the beginning of the parade of horribles homosexual marriage would generate.

2 - Pat Buchanan: I think Savage should give him a chance a explain himself. I think he's being misunderstood. He was being grilled on CCTV Catholic Channel and he was trying to explain what he meant. He's saying Iran now is like Germany then. He said he doesn't think Iran is a threat to the West and that they're far from being nuclear capable but thinks the U.S. may force an unnecessary war anyway. His point is that Hitler wanted to invade Russia first but was forced to attack the West first because of threats from England.

I don't necessarily agree with Buchanan (it's an interesting point of view, but I think Hitler at some point would have attacked the West anyway) but I don't think Savage necessarily understands what he's saying.

I think Buchanan's a good interview on Savage and I hate to see him summarily dump him without give him his "day in court" so to speak.

If I may throw in my belated two cents--and perhaps hastily--, I agree. Savage has divorced himself from Buchanan a few times already, yet returns to Pat as a source of traditional conservative wisdom. His rant against Buchanan--I consider it to be nothing more than that--was unfair, in my opinion. Has the Doc read Pat's latest book? I have some disagreement with Mr. Buchanan, but referring to him as an apologist for Hitler borders on sensationalism.

Savage should know better. The old "anti-Semite" slander against paleo-conservatives is as detestable as the charge of "racism" against those opposed to affirmative action and other such liberal policies.
