So far no other major candidate has declared, but there other people thinking about running -- namely billionaire mall magnate Rick Caruso.
When reached by cellphone this week while sailing off the coast of Italy, Caruso said he will make his decision in the coming months. It's clear that he's enjoying the reaction he's received as a possible contender. "Lots of people have called me," he said.

Open Letter To L.A. Times Reporter Tina Daunt
By Walter Moore, Candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles, WalterMooreForMayor.com

Dear Ms. Daunt:
In your article today about the L.A. mayor’s race, you wrote, “So far no other major candidate has declared, but there other people thinking about running — namely billionaire mall magnate Rick Caruso.”
My name is Walter Moore. Not only am I a declared candidate, but I have been advertising my campaign on radio for months, and have raised over $101,000 in contributions so far.
So let me ask, were you unaware of my candidacy, or do you just not deem me a “major candidate?” And what criteria do you apply to determine who is a “major candidate?” My supporters and I would be very interested to know. More importantly, I think your newspaper’s readers would like to know.
Sincerely,
Walter Moore
Candidate For Mayor Of L.A.

That humming noise you hear is Walt Disney hitting 10,000 RPM, spinning in his grave. Walt was a conservative and a staunch anticommunist. Fortunately Iger is just the "bean counter" now. John Lasseter is the one carrying the creative mantle.
