If you ask me, these were about the two dumbest ways Jindal could have started out his term as governor.

Even I, as someone who isn’t at all opposed to approaching several different views on man’s origin, am a bit leary of the intentions of some of these intelligent design curriculums. I wouldn’t so much oppose this as wish Jindal had done it in the middle of his term. As such, I think he’s sent the wrong vibe in several directions.

This is the kind of move I’d expect from Huckabee—not the rising star of the Republican party.

Unfortunately, being a Republican in a Southern state like LA demands dealing with meaningless yet divisive issues like ID, which plays right into the yahoo characatures we're all familiar with in the national media.

All this is very avaoidable, but pandering knows no party.

Louisiana has been down this road before. In fact the Dover decision is a direct descendent of a Louisiana court case that went to the Supreme Court.

That's my thought, as well -- combined with his refusal to rein in the pay raise thievery, it makes me wonder whether Jindal is just another of those big-government GOP-ers who pays superficial attention to social issues. Ugh.
