At least the officers, who framed the Colon brothers will have a Very Interesting life behind bars.

I can’t think of a profession where there are no idiot crooks. Being police officers, they should get extra punishment for violation of trust.
Sounds like that musical police series which played for a couple of months back in the 90's.
Trust NYC cops? Maybe one out of every 100 or so.
This is why I favor humane prison conditions.
Single cells, reasonable medical and dental care, safe environment, education and work opportunities for the well behaved, an hour of sunlight each day.
There are innocent people in prison. At the very least, they should not be subject to abuse.
That must be the understatement of the year.
Another WAR ON DRUGS success story!!!
Reference bump!
I have never had a bad experience with the NYPD. This probably has everything to do with being white and not poor. I feel that I can reasonably expect not to have any unpleasant interactions with them if I continue to mind my own business. A man who is black or Latino and lives in a poor neighborhood would never have the same confidence, no matter how blameless his life. The police have quotas. I am sure that NYC is like any other American city in this regard.
First mistake is to believe that.
Any cop who tries to put an innocent person in jail must be given the same penalty that the innocent person would have suffered.
They were just standing outside in a bad neighborhood. NYPD cops rolled up and were standing around for hours trying to decide what crime to charge them with. One of the cops was violent and kicked my friend while he was handcuffed on the ground.
The cops settled on “auto stripping” after they noticed a vandalized car close by. Luckily, the owner of the car gave a statement and the case was dismissed instantly. Of course, there were no videos so the cops walked scott free.
Now, imagine if the owner was away or gone and couldn't testify? The car looked abandoned and the cops were surely betting on that.
Whoops!
Oh well, as long as we are invested in having the drug war we have to expect things like this.
