As Barack Obama has made clear, he believes combatting international terror should be viewed as a "law enforcement" problem rather than a war. Preposterous? Not if you're a modern day liberal. Why? Consider two basic beliefs that inform liberals like Obama. The first is moral relativity, aka there is no black or white, only shades of gray, also known as "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." The second is multiculturalism, aka no one culture is better than any other. First, moral relativity. When one bestows the same rights and privileges on non-citizen, non-uniformed, stateless jihadists [U.S. Supreme Court]as those granted to American citizens we have elevated their status, and, as a result, legitimized their grievances. Therefore they become entitled to the "benefit of the doubt" that a civilian court of law provides. Multiculturalism? This is the notion that the sclerotic, stuck-in-the-7th-century cultural mindset that informs most of the Middle East, the incubator for Islamofascism, is no less legitimate that our own culture. Endeavoring to understand "why the terrorists hate us" takes precedence over eliminating the threat they pose to our existence. In addition, multiculturalism forces us to believe what may or may not be true. How many times have Americans been told "moderate" Muslims are no threat to us whatsoever? How do we know that exactly, and what, exactly, constitutes a "moderate" in a faith that commands "infidels" be treated as second-class citizens under the BEST of circumstances? There's no moral equivalence between the United States and terrorists. Period. But when terrorists get Constitutional rights, and liberals contend that a war is a law enforcement matter, we're already there.

I seriously wonder if Obama is a “nice guy.” Sure, he presents a good public appearance but at the very least a guy who surrounds himself with people like Wright the America-hating conspiracy-monger, the Chicago swindler Rezko, and the unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers has no judgment. Worse, it may indicate a very serious moral flaw in his own character.

'You touched on a really important point. One of the signs of a decadent society is how litigious it has become. The number of absurd, junk lawsuits that is swamping our judicial system is truly astonishing. The shyster trial lawyers are a good example. Justice has become irrelevant in the obsessive compulsion to sue anybody for anything for an astronomical sum. It’s really become part of the ethos and mindset of our culture and it’s a societal rot. Even when one has no case whatsoever, one can always hope for an out-of-court settlement from a defendant who hasn’t the time or money to spend his life fighting for months or years in court.'

Excellent point.

...And a glaring example of this is the Medical profession, notably practicing physicians. These men and women are often the targets of scurrilous Trial lawyers seeking outrageous fortunes via malpractice suits. These suits often lead to bankruptcy for the the doctors, often forcing many to forfeit their dreams and desire to heal the sick...which then leads to shortages. And with shortages come skyrocketing medical costs which often hinder most Americans in dire need of good medical care.

...So the next time you hear Senator Obama, Hillary Clinton, or any other prominent Democrat decrying the current state of America's Health care System, just tell them to go look in the mirror and see exactly who is to blame for this mess.

You’re absolutely correct. I have a relative who is an M.D. and he gave up his obstetrics practice (like many others because if people don’t have a pefect baby, they sue)and now only practices gynocology. His costs for medical malpractice are astronimical, thanks to shyster trial lawyers like John Edwards, and of course these costs have to be passed on to patients and insurance companies which makes medical care more costly for all of us. People commonly think of all doctors as “rich.” Of course, most make a very good living but that fact has to be put in the context of the total cost of becoming a professional. In my relative’s case, which is not unusual, he spent 11 years in medical schoool and internship. He didn’t fully repay his medical education debts until he was in his 40’s. Also, most people don’t know the stress and pressure that doctors experience in acquiring their professional training and in caring for their patients. The stereotypical image is of a guy on the golf course three days a week. Between seeing patients in the office and in the hospital most physicians have a 60 - 70 hour work week. Liberals/socialists have destroyed so much of our socio-economic free market system. It would be a nightmare-catastrophe if they destroyed the best medical system in the world that all foreigners seek when they want the best medical care available.

You nailed it again. And you can thank the Liberal press corps and Hollywood for perpetrating those distorted images of doctors living the lives of Beverly Hills plastic surgeons injecting brainless bimbos with collagen, tooling around town in the latest model of Mercedes Benz.

...It's truly scary what most Americans buy into just by turning on the Boob Tube.
