A court has overturned a father's penalty for his daughter for disobeying his orders to avoid the Internet the cancellation of a school trip, according to a new report.
According to Agence France-Presse, Justice Suzanne Tessier in Quebec Superior Court ordered the grounding for the 12-year-old girl lifted, prompting the father's lawyer, Kim Beaudoin, to warn, "Parents are going to be walking on egg shells from now on."
The father had ordered the daughter, who was not identified by the report, to remain off the Internet. She didn't, chatting on websites her father had tried to block and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online, using a friend's Internet portal.
As punishment, the father refused to let her go on a scheduled school trip, so the 12-year-old went to Canada's judicial system to get her way. Beaudoin told AFP the punishment was for her own protection and is pursuing an appeal.

There was a time I’d think that......but not anymore.
What in the sam hill is this world coming to? 12 year olds are able to sue their parents because they don’t like the discipline from their parents????????
Thankfully, this is a story from French Canada, not the US.
. This spoiled little brat needs to get her clocked cleaned.
Close the northern border before Canada’s idiocy furhter infects the U.S.A.
Any kid (or grandkid) of mine who went to court over a non-abusive punishment such as grounding would immediately find that their college fund had just become my personal “toys” (computers, software, guns, etc...) fund.
I'll bet the judge was upset because he was looking at those pics and wanted her to keep it up.
The father, who is appealing the decision, was “devastated” by the ruling, Beaudoin said. He is refusing to take his daughter back “because he has no authority over her.”

The judge decided the punishment was “just too much”? Okay, the first question in my mind is, “WHO THE **** DOES THIS SANCTIMONIOUS **** THINK SHE IS?” And right behind that is, “is anyone planning to make this judge the most miserable meddling **** in the province?”
Whether such a story originates in USA or CAN makes little difference as we’ve also seen this sort of meddling in the States. Our overlords will keep this nonsense up until someone puts the fear of God into them.
What about the Justice? If I were the parents; I would go after her. She is insane.

Silly you.
At 18, she’ll just go back to the same court and sue you to cover the costs of her education.
How do you think that court will rule?

LOL excellent point
When I lived in California, my neighbor handled the judge as follows:
Brought the daughter and a suitcase to court, and when the time came he announced to the judge; “Your Honor, since the court has deprived me of all parental authority, she’s all yours!”
And he managed to exit the court before the judge was able to collect herself and charge him with contempt.
Well, if she was browsing FeeRepublic, then I would understand.(/sarcasm off)
She's going to have a girl gone wild on her hands..
