In 1968, the 2.52-mile road-racing course was constructed on 720 acres by Marin County owners Robert Marshall Jr., an attorney from Point Reyes, and land developer Jim Coleman of Kentfield. The two conceived of the idea of a racetrack while on a hunting trip. Ground was broken in August and paving of the race surface was completed in November. The first official event at Infineon Raceway was an SCCA Enduro, held on Dec. 1, 1968.

Gordon will blame his dismal outcome on the vehicle as usual.
Fond memories from our 41st anniversary. We went to the Wind Country Classic and our skybox seats included a spin around the track with a pro driver.
That's my daughter and wife completing their lap. My ride was just before theirs.

Thanks for the ping Norm.
And Nascar will do whatever they can to help Jr. win again.
Sears Point Raceway BUMP!
I hope Crash Gordon has a good race after all the rotten luck, and I agree, Jeff has sure been having a less than dazzling year too.. maybe they can turn it around here. altho,, ya never know.
Been getting tired of NASCAR’s antics. Actually following a lot of ARCA last few years. More of a spirit of ‘out of my garage and to the track’ racing. And these boys and gals can whip it up to 180mph. Tickets at MIS were $15 for their race here.
