Please don't post any more about his citizenship. He is a legal citizen of the U.S. and is legally eligible for the Presidency.

I was born the same year as Obama. I have a BC from the state of Maine. It's a copy. I do not have an original. My BC is a copy of the original, not a new form used today with the information copied onto it. My BC also shows original signatures of my parents, Their ages at my birth, my father's occupation, their birthplaces, mother's mailing address, original signature of the attending doctor, original signature of the registar at the date of registration 5 days after birth. It also clearly shows original typing errors.
At the bottom it states, "I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true abstract of a certificate or record which is in my official custody."

My BC, the same year as Obama’s shows “Color or Race” for each parent.

Also, in addition to the typing correction, the type is not perfectly aligned on each line. Some information is squarely on the line, some is above it, some strays below the line a little as would happen when typed on a typewriter.

I think you’re referring to a photocopy of your original birth certificate. If this was a reissue, or a certification of birth, I doubt it would have all the original information on it. Thus my questions about race, mother’s maiden name (assuming they were married at the time), and a reissue date. An original would have all your particulars. A reissue would not.

Lincoln was the only president with no experience as a governor, senator, Cabinet member, general or vice president. Lincolns previous experience in public office consisted of one term in the U.S. House, several terms in the Illinois Legislature and a brief tenure as postmaster of New Salem, Ill. He was also an unsuccessful merchant, a successful lawyer and twice an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Correction. It does seem to be a copy of the original photcopied onto paper used today. It is not centered on the Certification of Vital Record paper. It shows variations in the ink of the letters and numbers printed or written on the original. It also has a number in red on the back lower right hand corner.

Well then, a reissue doesn't clear up anyone's questions, does it???

Still going back and forth on that, honestly. As others have pointed out the guy at DailyKos isn’t exactly what you’d call “trustworthy”. Even if all the info. is correct (which it very well might be), why would Obama have it published at Daily Kos and not his own site(s)? That strikes me as odd. Also, the fact that many journalists asked the campaign for a copy and were denied. One would guess that at least SOME of those reporters who asked were Obama fans... And yet, they decide to release it to a blog and someone that has made very horrid remarks concerning Israel and the Jewish people - right after the whole flap about Obama’s remarks on support of Israel? Again, that strikes me as VERY odd... Then again, with Obama’s campaign we aren’t dealing with the brightest group of people out there...
As I said, I’m still going back and forth on this... It’s still not sitting well with me.

Under what circumstances would a person want a “reissue” of their birth record and not a copy of their birth certificate? When I went to the records office they didn’t ask me if I wanted a reissue, or a copy of the original. Seems that you would have to specifically ask for a reissue. Still seems funny to me that a true copy of his certificate wouldn’t be provided to clear up all questions.

No. If this is an authentic reissue, it only states his legal name and legal parents' names as of the date of the reissue. For example, if Barack changed his name, his original name would not be shown. Another example, if Barack were adapted by Joe and Jane Smith, his parents names on his reissue would be Joe and Jane Smith, not his original parents.
What I find curious is the mother's maiden name on the reissue. Now maybe Hawaii's Health Department does things different than the other 56 states (/s), but mine only shows my parents name at the time of my birth. Since they were married, they have the same last name. It could just be a difference in the way states issue certificates, don't know.

If you need a birth certificate for a passport or say traveling to the Bahamas (in the past), all you need is a valid reissue, not all the particulars of your birth. Same thing to get your SS card reissued, or another piece of ID to obtain a state driver's license, I think. It just certifies that you are who you say you are. I don't have any originals of my birth certificate.

On the copy shown on the Kos website, upon magnification, you can see June 6, 2007 in blue toned ink shown backwards as if printed on the back of the “original” document. If he (someone) had this instrument then, why wait until now to provide it instead of weeks ago?
To: eyedigress
There is nothing on this site to prove or disprove his eligibility, until that is done its a mute point.
It may be a 'mute' point, thanks to the mods, but it certainly isn't a MOOT point.
To: TheThinker
You're absolutely right. The President of the United States should have no dual allegiances. It should be a law no one of dual citizenship should be eligible.
Aww, why not? It
worked out so well for Peru:

Who knows....playing games? Maybe the mother's name listed on the certificate? Again, I don't know how Hawaii designates parents' names on a certificate of birth, but if someone has a recent reissue of a Hawaiian birth certificate, it would help clear up whether the parents' last names should be the same or not (if they are married). Of course, if the parents divorced, and the mom retook her original maiden name, it might explain the Dunham name.
I have no idea why this was released so late, and why to the Kos website.

Does anyone know someone who lives in Hawaii so that they can send for a new birth certificate?

"Im sorry if I came off snarky"
No need to apologize - this whole thing is snarky.
If this does turn out to be a Photoshop, and if it isn't exposed as one, just imagine what the O's disciples would feel embolden to do next!
And, if this is a Photoshop, and they're caught Photoshopping something as significant as BO's BC, their credibility goes even farther down the toilet - and we have further cause to ask BO to produce the actual certified copy.
If this isn't a Photoshop, then the fact that we did due diligence stands as testament to our commitment to truth.

When Ive asked for a copy of my birth certificate its a photo copy. ANY FREEPERS OUT THERE CIRCA BORN AROUND 1961 from Hawaii WHO CAN REPRODUCE THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR US?
