A Venezuelan journalist is reporting that Hugo Chavez’s government is recruiting young men to train with Hezbollah for the purpose of asymmetrical warfare against the US.

Fausta has the translation.

Hugo Chavez pretends to cut back on his support of the FARC, when his “dangerous” associations go well beyond the Colombian guerrilla.

See the original article and read the whole translation.

Venezuelans of Arab ancestry are being recruited under the auspices of Tarek el Ayssami, Venezuela's vice-Minister of the Interior, for combat training in Hezbollah camps in South Lebanon.

Tarek el Ayssami, Venezuela's vice-Minister of the Interior...that pretty much says it all.

So far, this amounts to Hugo Chavez conducting a pretend war with the U.S. Not exactly scary.

Hugo Chavez conducting a pretend war with the U.S. Not exactly scary

In 1983 Hezbollah killed 241 members of our Armed Forces in Lebanon, mostly Marines but also Navy and Army personnel. Hezbollah is not pretending.

If this is true, then it is grounds for a formal declaration of war against Venezuela. Since the snivelers in Congress would never exhibit the huevos to do that, Pres. Bush should use whatever executive branch shenanigans he wants to come down on Chavez. After all, Bush said we would hold any country harboring terrorists or abetting terrorism accountable. Well, let's do it.

Wow! I didn't realize that Chavez was responsible for that. Thanks for the clarification.

Hugo hasn’t been much concern to President Bush. I wonder which President you’re referring to?

This should be funny. Remember what happened when Che Guevara’s relatives went to Tehran to talk about defeating “evil America”?

As far as the Iranian radicals were concerned, they expected the Guevarans to all convert to Islam. The communists had other ideas, once that America was overthrown, then foolish and primitive religions would be abolished and everyone would be communists.

The Guevarans were then promptly asked to leave, and did.

Well, I wasn’t referring to a future President Obama, that’s for sure....Hugo and Barry are two peas in the same pod.

Chavez seems hell bent on acquiring nuclear weapons, too.
I hoping President George W. Bush is working behind the scenes to undermine Chavez, because Chavez is certainly working overtime to undermine the U.S.A.
