Regardless of my disgust at polygamy, Warren Jeffs, child abuse, etc., Judge Walther was completely out of control in this case. She is a loose cannon and needs to be impeached. Here is a link to an on-line petition calling for her impeachment.

You're welcome.

Since that posting I was directed to the warrant and affidavit for Jeffs' arrest in the Utah case. The language of describing being an accomplice to a crime uses words like "solicited, encouraged, commanded,", etc. (I can't find my own posting on this.)

Officiating at a marriage ceremony is no doubt sufficient connection to the subsequent sexual assault which was an expected direct consequence of the marriage. But even if Jeffs "ordered" somebody else to officiate, his role in dictating specifically who shall marry whom would still meet the legal criteria, I think.

Interesting

What started me asking at lodge there are two older ministers both in the past have married with parents permission and legal marriage licence under age girls usually in the mom to be situating so kid would have name

This started out as a civil suit and then went to criminal we were discussing could some gal who they counseled and married who got unhappy later look at their church as the lottery with the right lawyer?

Reading this not sure yet my thoughts is because of the marriage license they may be ok but that depends on how good their lawyer is and the jury.
