BARACK OBAMA

Father Michael Pfleger, Surpassing Jeremiah Wright at Trinity

This YouTube is now being sent to me by many readers. I'll have a transcript in a moment, but it features one of Obama's close friends, Fr. Michael Pfleger, preaching at Trinity United. This seems like an oddly-timed sequel to the Wright brouhaha, as we now have another Obama mentor giving a strikingly similar message.

UPDATE: Much like written words don't do justice to Jeremiah Wright's sermons, the video must be watched to be believed.

Pfleger is introduced as "a friend of Trinity", and then the YouTube skips ahead to one section:

I must now to address the one who says, 'don't hold me responsible for what my ancestors did.' But you have enjoyed the benefits of what your ancestors did! And unless you are ready to give up the benefits — Throw away your 401 fund! [sic] Throw away your trust fund! Throw away all the money that been put away in the company you walked into 'cause your daddy and your granddaddy and your great grandaddy —

(screaming at the top of his lungs)

Unless you are willing to give up the benefits, then you must be responsible for what was done in your generation! 'Cause you are the beneficiary of this insurance policy!

Words cannot describe the surreality of watching a middle-aged white man in a priest's collar appearing like he is trying to imitate Jeremiah Wright at his most outrageous.

[garbled] expose white entitlement. And supremacy, wherever it raises its head. I said before, I really don't want ot make this political, because you know I'm really very unpolitical.

When Hillary was crying, and people said that was put on, I really don't believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought, 'this is mine. I'm Bill's wife. I'm white, and this is mine. I just gotta get up and step into the plate.'

Then out of nowhere, 'I'm Barack Obama!'

Imitating Hillary's response, screaming at the top of his lungs again, he continues, 'Ah, damn! Where did you come from? I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show!'

(mocks crying)

She wasn't the only one crying, there was a whole lot of white people crying!

I'm sorry. I don't want in any more trouble. The live-streaming just went out again."

The argument that 401(k) accounts are inherent representations of white supremacy will be news to many, many Americans.

So what is the response from Team Obama going to be? That he didn't know Pfleger was capable of this kind of rhetoric, either?

[He is a priest not a Bishop.]

Is that a ring on his left hand?

“Fr. Pfleger has the Cardinal George by the testicles because he is afraid of a great uproar and schism in the church.”

Only a Bishop can lead a schism; and it will only continue if the bishop ordains priests to serve the new schismatic church.

His speech reflected the thinking of Robert Mugabe, and his manner - the tone of voice, the histrionics, the handkerchief - was largely an imitation of Farrakhan. And it was obvious from the get-go that this sort of thing is standard fare at that church, and that Obama is therefore lying through his teeth when he says he is offended by those ideas. He lived and breathed those ideas for 20 years. The more people who see tapes like this, the more Obama’s chances will melt away.

[Obama] lived and breathed those ideas for 20 years.

Hey, cut the guy some slack. Obama might've snoozed thru the sermons.

But one thing's for sure: Michelle didn't.

Last year, Father Flakey harangued an anti-gun mob outside of a Chicago-area gun shop that Anti-gun tyrant Mayor Daley has been trying to shut down via intimidation and fear.

Amongst other hysterical rhetorical outbursts, Flakey said that the law abiding gun shop owner should be dragged like a rat from his shop and “snuffed” along with any Illinois legislators who would not vote for the anti-gun legislation. If someone can give me a good free site for audio uploads, I will post the audio clip for you to hear.

This fool may be a clown, but he is also a demagogue and potentially too dangerous to be undisciplined by the Archdiocese.

"Making me feel real good about now being an Evangelical Protestant."

As a Baptist I feel that's a bit of cheap shot. Any denomination can have a runaway kook in the pulpit. The test will be whether the Catholic leadership takes steps to deal with this. After what they went through with the child molesting scandel I would think they should be very quick to deal with a rogue Priest.

Perhaps my choice of the work Schism might not be appropriate but the intent of my comment is that Cardinal George is afraid that if withdraws Phleger’s Faculties as a Priest, Phleger will leave the Catholic Church followed by his Black Parishioners and start his own reform Catholic Church.

Perhaps, Cardinal George is afraid that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will start a national boycott of the Catholic Church and not only encourage Black Americans to start a Black Catholic Church similar to the Polish National Catholic in Scranton.

Perhaps, Cardinal George is afraid that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are threatening Cardinal George with a possible demand for monies for reparations for whatever reason that only they might devise.

I don’t know if any of these hypothetical situations have any basis in fact but by Cardinal George’s inaction a reasonable person can only conclude that Cardinal George is using the theory that he may win a small battle with Phleger and loose many good people who might be effected by this situation.

“As a Baptist I feel that’s a bit of cheap shot.”

I’m sorry you feel that way.

“Any denomination can have a runaway kook in the pulpit.”

I agree.

“The test will be whether the Catholic leadership takes steps to deal with this.”

Lets not be holdin’ our collective breath.

“After what they went through with the child molesting scandel I would think they should be very quick to deal with a rogue Priest.”

Actually given that track record, I kind of doubt it.

Let me correct myself, Fr. Bozo is not a Bishop, however, all Bishops are priests.

The thing that gets me about the commentary on this situation is that every one seems to focus on the ‘pastors’ involved and the words they use.

No one seems to notice the reaction of those in the congregation. Those people are eating those words up. They are leaping to their feet, roaring their approval.

This says more about Obama than the words of those ‘pastors’. That congregation is as racist as they come. Otherwise they would not react as they do and they would not allow these ‘pastor’s to preach as they do.

Yet, I’m supposed to believe that, some how, Obama is unique in that he was the only member of that congregation that isn’t racist, that didn’t adhere to what is obviously the universal approval of the racist rhetoric spouted by these ‘pastors’?
