The Dead Raised again! Woman Suddenly Comes Back to Life, Doctors Call it a "Medical Miracle"

By the time she was found, her body had become stiff with rigor mortus.

Val Thomas(Charleston, West Virginia)—According to the AP report, West Virginia resident, Val Thomas' heart stopped last Saturday morning, and by the time she was found, her body had become stiff with rigor mortus. (Photo: AP)

Paramedics were able to revive her, but only after an estimated 15 minutes without oxygen or a pulse—she was rushed to an area hospital. During procedures to lower her body temperature, Val's heart stopped two more times.

The Thomas family was told by doctors that Val had only a 10 percent chance of survival. She went 17 ½ hours with no brain waves, while waiting for word on an organ donor recipient. The family made the decision to take her off life support.

Daniel Pence, Val's nephew said, "[I prayed] to God, ‘Just show me something, I know there's something here,' but I didn't see it."

Some time after the life support tubes were removed from Val, she suddenly awoke. Doctors say, although her heart stopped three times, Val does not have any heart blockages. She was taken to Cleveland Hospital for further evaluation, but they could find nothing wrong with her—they are calling it a "medical miracle."

"I feel very blessed, I know God has something in store for me," says Val.

One fact that has not been mentioned before in other media reports is that a relative [niece-in-law] of Val, named Darla, had been prayed for by an attendee of the Lakeland Healing meetings in Florida. As this person prayed over Val's relative, she told her that there would be "healing, revival . . . and restoration in her family." At the time, the relative of Val Thomas did not know what she meant by that, however, now she is praising God for her Aunt Val's resurrection.

Says Darla, "Jesus stepped in when man stepped away—when doctors could do no more—Jesus did the rest."

What’s interesting here is that that standard of being dead is no brain waves. If this story is true, then the standard would need to be changed.

Exactly. But not likely. With National Health Care, standards will be lowered. The inability to nourish yourself will be the new standard. Dependent (useless) eaters will be starved to death. It will be a crime give them food and water. /sarcasm.

Fascinating story, ovrtaxt. Thanks for posting. Ping.

But be very aware...

I just read more about him, and you need to be very very cautious..

The Bible even states how false prophets can preach & heal, but they are still false prophets.

If you have spiritual discernment, use it!....please.

Jesus and my experience of Heaven are so contrarian to the typical church-going Christian that that is best left alone. Jesus is so GREAT that He would die a billion times without hesitation for a me, or a you, or anybody !

The Holy Ghost is right here with me and there with you. He can not be seen for He has no shadow, being Pure Light, thus nothing to contrast Him to. As are the angels.

The Holy Ghost, Whom I call Emmanuel, and the angels are Servants. That's Their Greatness, and Their rewards are simple thanks and Praise/

RM happens about 3 hours after you are most certainly dead.

I believe we are going to see more of this sort of thing. This revival in Lakeland is much more than just an outpouring of God's healing. I believe that God has chosen this particular time to reveal Himself in miraculous ways.

Yes, we need to always be discerning, but we also need to rejoice and give thanks and glory to God when He moves on our behalf.

what was her body temp? I think I heard that she was hypothermic and that will really prolong somebody's chances for survival in say, fresh water drowning.

Either way, it's a miracle. Cause I wouldn't want to bet on holding my breath for 15 minutes even if I was frozen solid.

Thank you for your enlightening report. I've had similar experiences without the dying part. Yes, it is difficult to talk of such things because we have our "settled " ways of thinking about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. As you know, it is also impossible to put into words. As St Paul said, "I cannot speak of it."

I'm off for the day's business. Everyone have a great day.

There's a lot more than a phony "resurrection" slat to this article. Where in recorded medical history was there ever a "corpse" that was actually

  1. clinically dead,

  2. AND in true rigor mortis,

  3. AND STILL running a high fever?

This was not a "resurrection". It was a simple case of medical incompetence combined with religious hyper-gullibility.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Hokum! Baloney! Bravo Sierra!!!
What was the original source? National Enquirer?
(BTW, & FWIW, I do believe in Jesus' resurrection...)
Doctors look for “higher level” waves that are associated with consciousness and personality....often times these may be depressed or inactive despite active “lower” levels associated with brainstem and autonomic activity. A person often may be considered brain dead even if there are active autonomic/brainstem responses. Certain anesthetics such as propofol which is often used to keep a person sedated while on a vent may have a masking effect on brainwave activity. Indeed, I’ve seen neurologists use propofol and anticonvulsants to keep a brain “chilled” as it attempts to heal from a lesion,inflammation or other trauma. I remember
a patient that was on a running eeg connected to a laptop and I had to adjust sedation should their brain wave function exceed prescribed limits.
I have to wonder what meds the lady had been on...it sounds like her propofol finally wore off and she woke up!
I can believe the “no brain activity” part, but absolutely not the rigor mortis.
Sloppy reporting, hyperbole, misinformation-—these things do exist!
Thank you.
Murphy's Law: Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way.
That's one aspect of Faith. The other is Jesus Law: Whatever can be right will be right, always at the best possible time, and in the best possible Way.
We get a choice when dying: to stay on earth or go to Heaven. Assuredly, NOBODY wants to come back! But some of us have jobs to finish, and dead men talking are listened to...
If this story is true, then the standard would need to be changed.
The problem with defining death is that it is a process, not an instant event. We use certain indicators to assume someone is not going to revive, but it's an inexact science.
Not at all. Death is a legal designation by the state. It is not based on anything but practicality.
Hold up a second. Rigor mortis starts about three hours after death, after all metabolic processes have stopped.
We have been three time to the meetings, Todd has preached at our church over 5years ago. We go to a church that believes the scriptures. We are a part of Morningstar Ministries out of Fort Mill, S.C. Reading about him and hearing what he is preaching are very different. You can find many heresy hunters and anti-revivalist on the internet.
