Are you really an elitist, as most people instinctively understand an elitist to be?

I'm guessing probably not. But this is exactly what defines a leftist elitist.

Nah, I'm more of a right-wing elitist. Sure, plenty of people can't manage their lives very well (and I suppose I might be able to manage some of them better), but that's their own business.

Largely, I just think most people can't manage the government, so I strongly distrust the "wisdom" of democracy, and consequently think we're best off with a government that's as small as possible.
