The problem isn’t Islam, the problem is Liberals.
Without Liberals, Islam wouldn’t even have a noticable presence in our country.
If we are daydreaming Constitutional Amendments, it would be more ‘practical’ to outlaw the practice of Liberalism.
Paging Scientology.
But... but.... all Muslims are bad and we should torch their places of worship, take their property and maybe just maybe lock them up in camps. /sarc
Thinking isn’t what this thread is about. Nice catch.
That’s already taken care of. In this country at least, the display of the grenade would have been illegal. I’m far more comfortable outlawing threatening displays (read action) than I am with outlawing a religion (read thought).
Yep. We sure don’t want government approved stamps for religions. It won’t go down like the trigger happy here think it will.
We routinely dispensed with the constitution when dealing with the native Americans. That’s to our eternal shame. Nothing I’d bring up to bolster an argument either way.
I'm against it. My position on immigration is that we have enough trouble with our continental neighbors who do have legitimate reasons to believe they belong here, to allow immigration from overseas period. Not a popular sentiment on FR, but one I believe in.
It's also rarely stated on FR, but Mexico and the USA share a common destiny. Mexico rises and falls with the fortunes of the USA. Mexico's national security hinges on the military might of the USA. These things are inexorably linked, and cannot be unlinked.
I’m not going to argue over whether or not Irish terrorists are/were Christians but they’ve always been identified as either Catholic or Protestant, so go from there.
I’m just glad we don’t let people like yourself rewrite the constitution based on your whims. Whew!
not to mention you’re hispanic yourself to be candid right?
we often act in concert with our identity right or wrong...
i’m in favor of immigration we can assimilate, contributes and is legal...
Precisely.
I'm almost entirely of Scottish and Irish ancestry with barely a tad of Cherokee. I'm in no way Hispanic. Or as my wife says, "If you want proof he's a white boy, ask him to dance."
While I share your reservations regardinglaws forbidding thought, history seems to make unambiguously clear that Islam is a threatening reality, not merely a “display”.
sorry...for some reason I think you were Mexican American
If it’s any consolation, a lot of Mexican Americans seem to think I’m Hispanic as well. It’s a daily occurrence for someone to walk up to me and expect me to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, I don’t speak a word.
Dern tootin' Hindus, Scientologists, Sikhs, Mormons, Jews, Catholics, Budhists, Adventists.
Anyone who doesn't use the King James Bible, all the King James Bible, and nothing more than the King James Bible,
I have a friend here who is like 9th generation Mexican American from since before California was a state, his family were ranchers....Mexicans here always walk up thinking he can speak Spanish...lol...I speak more than he does.
Do it!
