Believe me, it was just WAITING to happen. And once the legions of Japanese violent ultranationalist right wingers (whom of course I have my own disagreements with) and their loudspeaker trucks and truncheons got into the action, you would have one bloody group of plain-clothed PLA officers straggling around on the street in a daze.
