The failure of the Roosevelt economic policy is proved by this simple fact: The bulk of his New Deal was passed in his first 100 days - in 1932. The depression didn't end for another decade. If the “New Deal” ended it, why did it take 10 years?

Because the tenth time was the try? Or because of the war.

I've an unusual book titeled "The Literary Digest, Political Cyclopedia" printed in 1932 by Funk & Wagnalls. It has a neat little first section on how our Govrenment and elections (at that time ) work. Followed by the complete party plarforms for all 7 of the parties feilding Presidental cadidates for 1932. There was a black man by the name of James W. Ford from Alabama running against FDR. Then there was a section on the current(1932) tax system and it's workings. Then one on economics and finally on on the past presidental elections back to 1900 telling how each states electorial college had voted.

The part I like the best is the full text of the party platforms. I wish someone would put something like this togather for our current election cycle. As it stands we really have no idea of what our current parties intentions.
