FDR wasn’t a conservative, but if I was voting in the 1944 election and the GOP put up daffy Duck as the nominee, I’d vote for FDR. That’s the situation we’re in now.
The democrat party wasn’t the same in 1944 as it is now. It makes it difficult as to whom I would have voted for.
