If Obama is elected then we need to understand that white people will be marked. He will use the government club to beat down Americans who are NOT of color and steal from the pockets of everyone to pay $$$ to deadbeats, criminals and others who seek to suck the life out of this nation.
“I still cant believe how he threw his grandmother under the bus. Thats pretty damn slimy.”
I agree with that, and think the more people who focus on that point today and later, that this will hurt him badly among a small slice of Independent voters.
That’s tactic I’ve never observed before: when you need to get out of a corner you painted yourself into, trash a grandparent, Lol!
Obama cannot really dissociate himself from Wright because of ALL that they share, which is a rabid leftist worldview aimed at weakening America’s standing in the world. They agree on so much, far beyond mere issues of race, and Wright just happens to be the passionate ‘rough’ transmitter of socialist ideas also embraced by Obama. In order to really distance himself from Wright it would be necessary for Obama to repudiate his entire adult life and thought. Obama is a virulent socialist who learned how to pose as a moderate-sounding ‘uniter’ — but his ideas are all from the far left of the political spectrum.
Our whole election process has become so hideous that virtually no sane person would put themselves through this ....or when they give it a shot the don't last like Fred and Mitt.
What was the phrase....the person who finally becomes President no longer deserves to be President.
It's like trying to tell me some white guy goes to KKK meetings for 20 years and is a close friend of the grand wizard, but we're supposed to believe he doesn't agree with KKK beliefs? Give me a break.
But then, that would upset the left in the country wouldn't it.
and the poor lady isn’t even give a platform to defend herself... Grandma you are a racist....
WOW so I guess that means Wright is Right and we are all racists...
Obama is TOAST and given he has the delegates to beat Hillary, the Dems are TOAST.
I never thought McLame would win in a landslide, but it appears more and more likely every day.
You're right!! :-)
I agree with that, and think the more people who focus on that point today and later, that this will hurt him badly among a small slice of Independent voters.
Frank Luntz was mentioning that yesterday. He felt that Barak is going to have major problems with the public for revealing the faults of his own grandmother, and basically equated them with the sermons of Wright.
The thing is...Obama knew Wright would be a problem but stayed with him anyway. Obama uninvited Wright to give a speech at some event and apparently at one point he and Wright agreed that he might have to distance himself from Wright because of this black hate. I think it’s extremely bad judgement along with what must be tacit agreement to what Wright was saying. There’s something passive about all this...that he would listen to this and even defend Wright when he is ruining Obama’s dream. Obama seems to be a confused dreamer. NOT Presidential.
McCain’s connection to John Hagee takes that weapon off the table in the general election, and Hillary’s reputation greatly weakens it in the primaries (it just sounds like more of the same-old-same-old Clinton Slime Machine output).
McCain’s only connection to Hagee is Hagee stating that he was voting for him. McCain has not sat under his preaching for 20+ years.
I still can’t believe he takes his children to THAT church!!!
Typical RAT philosophy!
Print out Gerson’s editorial, grab a sharpie and write “Exhibit A” up top. Underline key punches like this one: “This accusation does not make Wright, as Obama would have it, an ‘occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy.’ It makes Wright a dangerous man.”
Now go watch Barack Obama’s speech *in its entirety”.
I don’t mean to put Obama or his words on a pedestal. But occasionally people meaningfully tap into deeper truths, help us grasp what will get us unstuck. This time around, for a day anyway, Obama “gets it”. Gerson doesn’t.
For small words like these — the fear and insularity of the worst of a Gerson or Wright — we are all the poorer. Just like Wright and even Obama... you, Gerson, can do better. We all will be better for it.

But, it is not Wright who is the most troublesome to Senator Obama, it is Michelle, who's statements directly contradict anything that Obama might say that attempts to distance himself from Wright. Michelle's most problematic comments were her advice to people not to strive for Middle class jobs and executive positions. This advice is right out of the rants and hatred that is at the core of the Trinity Church of Christ, regardless of whether Rev. Wright is in the pulpit or not.
I have watched the speech, in it's entirety, twice, and read it as well. I just don't see what you are talking about. What is the deeper truth that Obama grasps?
I get the feeling, watching them both, that Barack does not really believe any of this nonsense about the Black Value System or the rantings and ravings of Wright, but that Michelle has bought into it, to a certain extent.
What I suspect happened is that Barack started going to Trininty UCC in order to increase his credibility and to network in the community that was to be his political base, and wound up dragging Michelle along. All the while he was there, he thought of himself as being above all that, and was cynically manipulating the situation at every turn. What he failed to realize, though, was that Michelle was there in the pews, drinking in every word.
I suspect, with no proof, mind you, that Barack cynically manipulated his wife, and did not share with her his true feelings regarding Rev. Wright and Trinity UCC, and that he sold her the same lie he sold to everybody else.
At the end of the day, Michelle serves a vital function in the Obama campaign as the person who can serve up the red meat to the black community that Barack could never be caught handling. But I suspect, in her case if not his, that it is not all an act.
